Apple is reportedly preparing another hardware event for October 27, with a redesigned touchscreen MacBook Pro, an OLED iPad mini, a new 14 inch MacBook Pro and an updated iMac among the products expected to appear.
The event would come only two weeks after Apple's planned October 13 smart home presentation, creating an unusually busy month for the company's hardware lineup.
The biggest change could arrive with the redesigned MacBook Pro models, which are said to introduce touchscreen support to Apple's professional laptop family for the first time.
Touchscreen MacBook Pro Could Also Switch to OLED
Two redesigned MacBook Pro models are reportedly in development under the internal identifiers K114 and K116.
These systems are expected to use OLED displays instead of the current panel technology while also adding touchscreen input.
The laptops could also become lighter than the existing MacBook Pro generation.
Another major design change may be the introduction of Dynamic Island. Apple reportedly plans to replace the current display notch with an interface similar to what it already uses on recent iPhones.
| Reported product | Expected change |
|---|---|
| Redesigned MacBook Pro K114 | OLED display, touchscreen, lighter design |
| Redesigned MacBook Pro K116 | OLED display, touchscreen, lighter design |
| 14 inch MacBook Pro | M6 processor |
| iMac | M6 processor |
| iPad mini J510 | OLED display, revised camera and speakers |
| Reported event date | October 27, 2026 |
The touchscreen models appear to represent a broader redesign rather than a simple processor refresh.
Pricing, exact screen sizes, memory options and other specifications have not yet been reported.
Separate M6 MacBook Pro Is Also Expected
The redesigned touchscreen MacBook Pro models should not be confused with another 14 inch MacBook Pro that is also reportedly scheduled for the event.
That system is expected to use Apple's M6 processor while keeping the existing chassis design largely unchanged.
An updated iMac is reportedly following the same approach.
The new iMac, internally identified as J833, is expected to retain its current external design, with the M6 processor serving as the main upgrade.
The 14 inch MacBook Pro is reportedly known internally as J804.

This suggests Apple could introduce both evolutionary and redesigned Mac hardware during the same presentation.
The M6 chip has already appeared in the Mac mini, so expanding it into more of the Mac lineup would follow Apple's usual processor rollout strategy.
OLED iPad Mini Could Arrive at the Same Event
Apple is also reportedly preparing a new iPad mini identified internally as J510.
The tablet is expected to switch to an OLED display, bringing the technology to another part of Apple's iPad family.
The front facing camera may move to the landscape edge, which would make video calls more natural when the device is used horizontally.
A redesigned speaker system is also reportedly planned.
Other important details, including storage capacities, processor choice and pricing, have not yet surfaced.
October Could Become a Two Event Month for Apple
The reported October 27 event would follow Apple's October 13 smart home presentation.
That earlier event is expected to focus on new connected home hardware, while the later presentation would concentrate more heavily on Macs and iPads.
Apple is also reportedly preparing additional Mac and iPad products for the first half of 2027, indicating that the October launches may only be the beginning of a broader hardware refresh.
For now, the October 27 date and product lineup remain based on reporting rather than an official Apple announcement.
If the plans hold, the touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro would be the most significant product of the event because it would introduce two major changes to a laptop family that has traditionally avoided touch input.
