AMD has shared pricing and availability details for its Ryzen AI Halo developer platform, with preorders set to begin in June 2026 at $3,999. The compact system is designed for developers who want to build, test, and run agentic AI workloads locally instead of relying fully on cloud services.
The platform is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 chip, part of the Strix Halo family. It includes 16 Zen 5 CPU cores, 32 threads, Radeon 8060S integrated graphics with 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units, a 50 TOPS XDNA 2 NPU, and up to 120W TDP. AMD is pairing the chip with 128GB of LPDDR5X 8000 memory and 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage.
AMD is positioning Ryzen AI Halo as a lower cost local AI system for developers
AMD says Ryzen AI Halo can run models up to 200 billion parameters locally. The company is also giving the platform full ROCm support, Windows and Linux compatibility, and optimization for tools such as LM Studio, ComfyUI, VS Code, and PyTorch. It will also support models and workflows such as GPT OSS, FLUX.2, SDXL, Qwen based coding tasks, image generation, local LLMs, and workflow automation.
The system is also small for the hardware it offers. AMD lists the device at 5.9 inches by 5.9 inches by 1.7 inches. It includes three USB Type C ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 10Gbps Ethernet, and HDMI 2.1b.

AMD is comparing the platform with NVIDIA’s DGX Spark and Apple’s Mac Mini M4 Pro. Against DGX Spark, AMD claims wider OS support and stronger tokens per dollar value. Against Apple’s Mac Mini M4 Pro, AMD says Ryzen AI Halo offers twice the maximum memory configuration and can run larger local models.

The company is also using cost savings as a major selling point. AMD says developers who move some AI workloads from cloud services to local hardware could save up to $750 per month. In its example, the Ryzen AI Halo costs $3,999 upfront and about $16.20 per month in electricity under a sustained 150W draw. AMD claims that setup can break even in about six months compared with cloud AI usage.
AMD is also preparing a higher end version with the Ryzen AI Max Plus Pro 495. That model is expected around the third quarter of 2026 with 192GB of memory and support for models above 300 billion parameters.
Ryzen AI Halo may not replace cloud AI for every workload, especially for large scale training or heavy enterprise deployment. But it gives developers a compact local system for testing models, building agentic AI apps, and running bigger workloads without paying for every token through a cloud service.
