AMD's upcoming Medusa laptop processors have appeared in Geekbench benchmark listings, providing an early look at the performance improvements expected from the company's next generation Zen 6 architecture.
The leaked results cover three engineering sample configurations featuring 10, 8 and 6 CPU cores. Testing was reportedly conducted on Lenovo devices being prepared for the company's 2027 laptop lineup.
The highest performing 10 core model scored 3,407 points in Geekbench 6 single core testing and 16,826 points in multicore testing.
The leaks also reveal an integrated GPU identified as GFX1170, reportedly based on AMD's RDNA 4m graphics architecture.
Although these results suggest substantial improvements over existing processors, they come from engineering samples rather than finished retail products.
AMD Medusa Zen 6 Delivers Strong Single Core Performance
The leaked Medusa processors use different combinations of Zen 6 and Zen 6C CPU cores.
The 10 core configuration reportedly features four Zen 6 cores and six Zen 6C cores, while the eight core model combines two Zen 6 cores with six Zen 6C cores.
The six core version uses one Zen 6 core alongside five Zen 6C cores.
In Geekbench 6, the 10 core engineering sample achieved approximately 15% higher single core performance than the Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 in the reported comparison.
Its multicore result was also around 6% higher than the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470.
Geekbench 7 results showed similarly encouraging performance, with the 10 core model reaching 3,100 points in single core testing and 18,313 points in multicore testing.
| Processor | Geekbench 7 single core | Geekbench 7 multicore |
|---|---|---|
| Medusa 10 core | 3,100 | 18,313 |
| Medusa 8 core | 2,913 | 15,075 |
| Medusa 6 core | 2,651 | 10,670 |
| Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 | 2,422 | 20,891 |
| Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 | 2,354 | 15,064 |
The results suggest that Zen 6 could provide meaningful performance improvements even in processors with fewer cores.
RDNA 4m Integrated GPU Outperforms Radeon 840M
The leak also includes an OpenCL benchmark for AMD's upcoming GFX1170 integrated graphics processor.
The GPU reportedly features four RDNA 4m compute units, combining architectural elements from RDNA 3.5 and RDNA 4.

It achieved 22,249 points in Geekbench OpenCL testing, compared with 12,019 points for the Radeon 840M.
That represents an improvement of approximately 85% in this particular benchmark.
The GFX1170 also exceeded the Radeon 860M's score of 20,642 points, although it remained below the Radeon 880M.
These figures suggest promising graphics improvements for future mainstream laptops, but OpenCL results do not directly establish gaming performance.
AMD has not confirmed the final specifications or performance of its Medusa processors.
The engineering samples provide an early indication of the company's plans, with additional testing needed to establish how the Zen 6 CPUs and RDNA 4m graphics perform in commercial laptops expected in 2027.
