The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is listed at $349.00 at Amazon, which names itself as the shipper and seller. The figure is not a markdown, because $349 is the suggested etail price AMD set for this version of the chip.

AMD sells the identical part through its own store at $349.00, and Newegg matches it while bundling a free Cooler Master Elite Liquid 240mm cooler. The Amazon offer wins on seller trust rather than on price.
The processor is an eight-core, 16-thread Zen 3 part with 96MB of L3 cache. That stacked cache is the point of the design, and it is why a chip from 2022 still matters.
What $349.00 buys at Amazon
The Amazon page carries no list price, no strikethrough and no percent-savings badge. The $349.00 figure held across two separate checks of the listing at the time of writing, on October 2, 2026.
The price is not gated behind Prime. The only Prime reference on the page concerns free delivery, and the same $349.00 applies without a membership.
Amazon says the chip is in stock. The listing also shows 33 other new sellers starting at $342.00, a detail the buy box does not surface.
A retailer undercutting AMD directly does happen, as it did when the Ryzen 5 8600G fell below the price on AMD's own store. This is not one of those cases.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D specifications
| Specification | AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D |
|---|---|
| Cores and threads | 8 cores, 16 threads |
| Base clock | 3.4GHz |
| Max boost clock | Up to 4.5GHz |
| L3 cache (3D V-Cache) | 96MB |
| L2 cache | 4MB |
| Default TDP | 105W |
| Socket | AM4 |
| Memory | DDR4 only, up to DDR4-3200 |
| PCIe | PCIe 4.0, 24 lanes |
| Cooler | Not included |
Every line above comes from the AMD specification page. Total cache is 100MB, which is the 96MB of L3 plus 4MB of L2.
The AM4 requirements behind the price
This is a Socket AM4 processor that runs on DDR4 memory only. It will not drop into an AM5 board, and it cannot use DDR5.
AMD lists X570, X470, B550, B450 and A520 as the supporting chipsets. PCIe 4.0 is available only on X570 and B550 boards, according to the Amazon listing.
No cooler ships in the box, and AMD recommends a liquid cooler for best results. AMD says this edition includes a Carbice Ice Pad thermal pad, which replaces paste but not a heatsink.
AMD frames the chip as a 10th anniversary send-off for AM4, and the platform still gets attention, with nine-year-old A320 boards receiving fresh BIOS updates. Support is not the problem. The ceiling is.
How it compares with the newer X3D chips
| Processor | Price at the time of writing | Buy box | Platform |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ryzen 7 5800X3D | $349.00 | Amazon | AM4, DDR4 |
| Ryzen 7 7800X3D | $359.99 | Square Four, a marketplace seller | AM5, DDR5 |
| Ryzen 7 9800X3D | $444.00 | Amazon | AM5, DDR5 |
| Ryzen 7 5800X3D at Newegg | $349.00 | Newegg, with a free 240mm cooler | AM4, DDR4 |
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D costs only $10.99 more, but its buy box belongs to a marketplace seller with one unit left. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is sold by Amazon itself at $444.00, down from a $479.00 list price.
Both AM5 chips demand a new motherboard and DDR5. Prices across the range move often, as the recent AMD and Intel processor price cuts and the Ryzen 9 9950X drop to $499.99 showed.
What the listing leaves out
The Amazon title and bullets never say 10th Anniversary Edition, even though the listed manufacturer part number, 100-100000651POF, is the anniversary part. The bundled Carbice Ice Pad appears only in the AMD announcement.
The Amazon product information table states eight concurrent threads, which contradicts AMD and the listing's own title of 16. The same table labels the 100MB total cache as secondary cache.
No end date, no stock count and no base clock are published on the listing. Retail prices change without notice, and AMD and Newegg currently sit level at $349.00.
