AMD Fluid Motion Frames 3 Reportedly Unlocked on Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 GPUs Using DeepSeek AI

AMD's upcoming Fluid Motion Frames 3 technology has reportedly been unlocked ahead of its official release, allowing certain Radeon graphics card owners to access the experimental frame generation feature through a Windows registry modification.

A Reddit user claims to have discovered the hidden functionality in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.10.2 with assistance from DeepSeek 4.1 Flash.

The modification reportedly enables AFMF 3 on RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 graphics cards, including the Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 series.

However, AMD has not officially announced AFMF 3, confirmed its supported hardware, or provided a release date.

DeepSeek AI Helps Discover Hidden AFMF 3 Setting

According to the Reddit user, DeepSeek was used to investigate AMD's graphics drivers and identify a registry setting associated with the unreleased technology.

The discovery reportedly requires changing a Windows registry value rather than modifying the graphics driver files.

After applying the modification and restarting AMD Software, the AFMF 3 option allegedly becomes available in the Adrenalin interface.

The feature reportedly includes two operating modes, Standard and Enhanced.

Enhanced mode appears to interact with temporal upscaling technologies, including AMD FSR, Intel XeSS, Unreal Engine 5 TSR and other temporal reconstruction methods.

The precise technical differences between these modes remain unclear.

Early AFMF 3 Testing Suggests Better Image Quality

Initial testing reportedly showed that Enhanced mode produced cleaner visuals than Standard mode, particularly around interface elements.

However, the improved image quality appeared to introduce additional latency.

The feature also reportedly works with motion blur enabled, while fullscreen requirements vary between games.

FeatureReported behavior
Supported architecturesRDNA 3 and RDNA 4
Driver versionAdrenalin 26.10.2
Operating modesStandard and Enhanced
Enhanced modeImproved image quality
LatencyPotentially higher in Enhanced mode
Official AMD supportNot confirmed

No independent benchmarks have established the performance improvements or measured the latency differences.

AMD Has Not Officially Released AFMF 3

References to AFMF 3 and FrameGenV3 previously appeared in Radeon drivers during September 2025, suggesting that AMD had been developing another generation of its frame generation technology.

Nevertheless, the company's current documentation continues to identify AFMF 2.1 as the officially supported version.

The Adrenalin 26.10.2 release notes also contain no announcement regarding AFMF 3.

Although the reported discovery suggests that development has progressed, experimental features may behave unpredictably or change before release.

Radeon owners should therefore avoid treating the registry modification as an officially supported upgrade until AMD confirms the technology's availability and compatibility.
