Amazon Discounts M5 MacBook Air by $200 and Select MacBook Pro Models by Up to $600

Several of Apple's latest M5 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models are on sale at Amazon, with discounts reaching $200 on MacBook Air configurations and as much as $600 on higher end MacBook Pro models.

The 13.6 inch MacBook Air with Apple's M5 chip, 16 GB of unified memory and a 512 GB SSD is currently priced at $1,099, down by $200. That represents a 15 percent discount and is one of the lowest prices seen for the model in recent months.

The 15.3 inch MacBook Air is also receiving similar reductions, with several memory and storage configurations discounted by $200.

M5 MacBook Air Models Drop by $200

The base 13.6 inch MacBook Air includes a 2560 × 1664 Liquid Retina display with brightness of up to 500 nits.

Its M5 chip combines a 10 core CPU, an 8 core GPU and a 16 core Neural Engine.

The laptop also includes Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Touch ID, a backlit Magic Keyboard, four speaker audio and battery life rated at up to 18 hours.

One important point remains unchanged across Apple's MacBook lineup. Memory and storage cannot be upgraded by the owner after purchase.

That means choosing the right amount of RAM and SSD capacity at the time of purchase remains important, especially if you plan to keep the laptop for several years.

MacBook Pro Discounts Reach $600

The larger discounts are available on the MacBook Pro family.

The base 16.2 inch MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro chip, 24 GB of unified memory and a 1 TB SSD is now listed at $2,499, a $500 reduction.

Its 16.2 inch Liquid Retina XDR display offers a resolution of 3456 × 2234, refresh rates of up to 120 Hz and peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits.

The M5 Pro configuration includes an 18 core CPU, 20 core GPU and 16 core Neural Engine.

Other specifications include Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an SDXC card slot, Touch ID and a six speaker audio system with force cancelling woofers. Battery life is rated at up to 24 hours.

Several higher end models are also discounted.

The 16.2 inch M5 Max model with 48 GB of memory and 2 TB of storage is priced at $4,499 after a $500 reduction, while a 14.2 inch M5 Max configuration with 36 GB of memory and a 2 TB SSD has dropped to $3,499, saving $600.

Other 14 inch MacBook Pro configurations are available with discounts ranging from $142 to nearly $430.

Discounts Still Reflect Apple's Higher Pricing

The current deals reduce the cost of Apple's latest laptops, but the sale prices remain above what similar MacBook configurations cost before recent price increases.

Even so, some of these reductions bring current models to their lowest levels in several months.

For buyers already planning to enter Apple's ecosystem or upgrade from an older Mac, the $200 MacBook Air discounts are the most consistent across the lineup, while the largest absolute savings are available on expensive MacBook Pro configurations.

The main decision still comes down to memory and storage because neither can be upgraded later. Choosing a cheaper configuration now may save money upfront, but buyers with heavier workloads may benefit from selecting a higher capacity model while the current discounts are available.
