Alienware AW2525HM 320Hz Gaming Monitor Drops to $199.99 at Amazon, $30 Under Dell's Own Price

The Alienware AW2525HM gaming monitor is $199.99 at Amazon, and the discount badge on the listing oversells the win. Dell sells the same monitor for $229.99 on its own store, so the real gap against the manufacturer is $30, not $50.

Amazon anchors the deal to a $249.99 list price and prints a 20 percent savings badge. Dell shows that same $249.99 figure as an estimated value rather than a price it charges.

The hardware is a competitive shooter panel before it is anything else. Dell specifies a 24.5-inch Fast IPS screen at 1920 by 1080, running up to 320Hz, with a 0.5ms grey-to-grey response time and 99% sRGB color coverage.

That matters because the buy box belongs to Amazon.com rather than a marketplace reseller, and the listing reads In Stock. The lowest new offer on the page matches the buy box at $199.99.

The 320Hz headline depends on which cable goes in

Dell publishes two refresh figures for this monitor. Its tech specification table lists 1920 x 1080 at 320Hz over DisplayPort and 1920 x 1080 at 255Hz over HDMI.

No overclock toggle is involved. The 320Hz number is the native DisplayPort maximum in Dell’s own table, with no OC qualifier attached.

The string 255Hz does not appear anywhere on the Amazon listing. Anyone who connects over HDMI 2.1 will land 65Hz short of the number in the product title.

The 0.5ms claim carries its own asterisk, and Amazon does print it. Dell measures that as a grey-to-grey minimum in Extreme overdrive, with 1ms described as the most observed figure.

What the same money buys at 1440p

The sharpest competition sits at an identical price. The Acer Nitro XV272U W2bmiiprx is a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS panel at 240Hz, also $199.99 with Amazon.com in the buy box.

The trade is blunt. Giving up 80Hz of refresh rate buys 78 percent more pixels, a 2.5-inch larger screen and roughly 109 pixels per inch instead of roughly 90.

Acer also sells a 300Hz version of the same 1440p panel, the XV272U F3bmiiprx, at $229.99 with only four units showing in stock. Both Acer models cap at a lower refresh rate over HDMI, so the port caveat is not unique to Alienware.

Staying inside the brand costs more. The Alienware AW2723DF is a 27-inch QHD Fast IPS screen at 240Hz native and 280Hz overclocked with 95% DCI-P3 coverage, and it now reads $362.99.

That is a different monitor from this one, and it reached the same $199.99 in September before climbing again. Cheaper 1440p options exist too, including the quantum dot panel that fell to $159.99, while the dual-mode 4K KTC H27P6 at $260.09 shows what another $60 buys in resolution.

What the listing leaves out

Neither Dell’s US specification table nor the Amazon page lists HDR support for this model. VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification has been reported elsewhere, but no HDR row appears on either retail page, so it should not be treated as a confirmed feature.

Resolution never appears in the five feature bullets, only in the title as FHD. Contrast of 1,000:1 is buried in Amazon’s product information table, and brightness, ports and stand travel are absent from the bullets entirely.

Dell’s stock signals also disagree with themselves. The full product page offers an Add to Cart button while Dell’s shorter order-code page calls the monitor currently unavailable, though both quote $229.99.

High refresh rate at 1080p remains a crowded bracket, and even budget Mini LED screens now advertise 320Hz modes. Prices and buy box holders were accurate at the time of writing on October 5, 2026, and both can change without notice.
