Alienware 16 Aurora With RTX 5050 Drops to $1,099 at Walmart

Dell's Alienware 16 Aurora gaming laptop is currently available for $1,099 at Walmart, putting the RTX 5050 based system close to the lower end of the current gaming laptop market.

Walmart lists the deal as a $900.99 discount from a claimed $1,999.99 price. That headline saving is less important than the laptop's current position against similar RTX 5050 systems, since several competing models with the same GPU are selling in roughly the same price range.

For buyers who want an Alienware machine without moving into much more expensive RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 territory, the $1,099 price makes this configuration worth a closer look.

Alienware 16 Aurora Combines RTX 5050 With Core 7 240H

The laptop uses NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5050 mobile GPU.

That is an entry level option within the RTX 50 series rather than a high end gaming chip, but it still supports NVIDIA features including ray tracing and DLSS.

The processor is Intel's Core 7 240H, based on the Raptor Lake family.

It includes 10 CPU cores, split between six Performance cores and four Efficient cores, with a total of 16 threads and 24 MB of L3 cache.

The Performance cores operate between 2.5 GHz and 5.2 GHz, while the Efficient cores run from 1.8 GHz to 4 GHz.

Display Is Better Than Basic Budget Gaming Panels

One of the more notable parts of the configuration is its 16 inch display.

It runs at 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate and is rated for up to 500 nits of brightness.

That gives the Alienware a higher resolution panel than many entry level gaming laptops that still rely on 1080p or similar displays.

The RTX 5050 may not always be powerful enough to run demanding games at the panel's native resolution with high settings, but DLSS can help in supported titles.

The 120 Hz refresh rate also makes the display suitable for lighter competitive games where the GPU can push higher frame rates.

RTX 5050 Rivals Are Available for Similar Money

The Alienware is not the cheapest RTX 5050 laptop currently listed.

An Acer Nitro V with the same Core 7 240H, RTX 5050, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD is priced at $999.99.

Another Acer Nitro V16 with a Ryzen 5 240 and RTX 5050 is listed at $1,088, while a Lenovo LOQ with a Ryzen 7 170 and the same GPU is priced at $1,193.

That means the Alienware's $1,099 price sits directly between lower cost Acer systems and slightly more expensive alternatives.

The value therefore depends partly on whether you prefer Alienware's design, build and branding enough to pay a small premium over the cheapest RTX 5050 options.

Spending More Gets You a Faster GPU

Buyers willing to increase the budget can move into more capable graphics hardware.

A Lenovo LOQ with a Ryzen 7 250 and RTX 5060 is listed at $1,199.99, only about $101 more than the Alienware.

An MSI Cyborg A15 with a Ryzen 9 270, RTX 5060, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD is priced at $1,339.99.

Higher up, a Gigabyte Gaming A16 with an RTX 5070 costs $1,629, while an MSI Vector 16 HX AI with an RTX 5070 Ti is listed at $1,780.99.

That makes the RTX 5060 options particularly relevant if gaming performance matters more than owning an Alienware system.

The Alienware 16 Aurora still offers a balanced package at $1,099, especially if you want a higher resolution display, RTX 50 series features and a recognizable gaming brand without moving too far above the $1,000 mark.
