That agreement matters. A list price matching the maker's own standing price is harder to dismiss as an inflated "was" number.
The arithmetic is simple. $549.99 minus $314.99 leaves $235.00, and $235.00 against $549.99 works out to 42.7%, which rounds to the 43% badge Amazon displays.

Amazon's bullets claim HDR10 support and nothing beyond it. Treating this monitor as a badged DisplayHDR display would go past what either company publishes.
Acer's closely related X27U X1bmiiphx does carry DisplayHDR True Black 400, according to Acer's own launch press release. That is a separately numbered SKU, and its certification does not transfer to the W1 on sale here.

LG's page states DisplayHDR True Black 500, though it does not name a window size either. The dual-mode hotkey switch between QHD at 540Hz and HD at 720Hz is the other clear step up.
OLED pricing at this size has been moving quickly. A rival 27-inch QD-OLED dropped to $299 with the same 240Hz ceiling, and an LG UltraGear 480Hz OLED fell below $470 in a separate Amazon deal.
What the listing does not say
Neither an end date nor a lightning-deal status is published for this price. Acer's store page says only that a limited warranty agreement applies, with no duration given.
Acer has been reported to promise three-year burn-in protection through the title of its dedicated OLED warranty page, but that page would not load during checking, so the terms and covered models stay unverified. The panel's subpixel layout has also been reported as a triangular structure rather than an RGB stripe, which matters for text-heavy desktop work, though neither Acer nor Amazon states it for this model.
