ASRock’s Phantom Gaming PGO27QSA series has dropped below $300, bringing a 27 inch QD OLED gaming monitor with a 2560 × 1440 resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate down to $299.
The deal applies to both black and white versions of the monitor and represents the lowest reported price for the model so far.
At this price, the display is competing directly with many conventional IPS gaming monitors while offering the contrast, response time and color performance associated with OLED technology.

The 240 Hz refresh rate makes the monitor suitable for both competitive games and faster single player titles, provided your graphics card can deliver sufficiently high frame rates at 1440p.
OLED response times are another major advantage. ASRock lists a 0.03 ms gray to gray response time, which should help reduce visible trailing during rapid movement.
QD OLED brings stronger contrast and color
The PGO27QSA uses a QD OLED panel rather than a traditional LCD.
Because OLED pixels produce their own light, individual pixels can switch off completely. This allows much deeper blacks than IPS or VA displays that depend on a backlight.
The monitor also covers 99% of the DCI P3 color space and is rated for Delta E below 2 color accuracy.
Those specifications make it useful beyond gaming. If you work with photos, video or other color sensitive content, the wide gamut and factory color accuracy may make the display more practical as an all purpose monitor.
The 2560 × 1440 resolution also provides more desktop space and sharper image quality than 1080p without demanding as much GPU performance as 4K.

ASRock includes two DisplayPort 1.4 connections and two HDMI 2.1 ports.
That provides enough flexibility for a gaming PC and additional consoles or other devices without constantly switching cables.
AMD FreeSync Premium is supported to help synchronize the monitor’s refresh rate with changing GPU frame rates and reduce visible tearing.
The stand is also fully adjustable, supporting height adjustment, swivel, tilt and pivot.

The $299 price changes the value equation
OLED gaming monitors have traditionally carried a substantial premium over IPS alternatives.
That gap has been narrowing as more models enter the market and earlier generation OLED panels receive deeper discounts.
At around $299, this ASRock model moves OLED into a price range that was recently associated mainly with premium IPS and VA monitors.
There are still factors to consider with any OLED display, including the possibility of image retention or burn in over long periods with static content. Your usage pattern matters if the monitor will spend most of its time displaying fixed desktop elements.
