Pre-assembled PCs are becoming increasingly popular with gamers and frankly, it's not hard to see why. Picking out every single component, assembling, arranging cables, and installing Windows isn't for everyone. Some people just want to take the computer out of the box and play. That's exactly what a local retailer in our home country (Romania) did, and what many other do all over the world. Their computer is named ZMEU Comic Con Edition and it’s designed for: a mid-range gaming system, that delivers good gaming experiences in Full HD and even 1440p, that you can use right out of the box. I tested it for a few days in games, apps and benchmarks, and I'm sold: it's one of the most well-rounded systems in its price range. Read this review for more details:

NOTE: This is a review of the ZMEU Comic Con Edition with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 video card. It's a complete system, pre-assembled and ready to use right out of the box. I’ve tested the standard black version, but the PC is also available in white if you prefer a lighter look. While this specific model is sold on the Romanian market by PC Garage, you should be able to find a similar configuration in your country too, especially if you’re looking for a plug & play gaming system in the midrange category.

Verdict

Verdict

The ZMEU Comic Con Edition is a well-rounded PC for gaming enthusiasts on a budget. It offers good performance and low temperatures in all the games I tested, runs silently, and it's ready to use out-of-the-box. It's hard to find a better pre-assembled PC for the same price, especially one with an OK CPU, GPU, RAM and SSD storage combination. If you want to start playing games right away, without having to pick and choose components or organize cables, ZMEU is the kind of system that makes your life easier. I can say it's one of the most inspired mid-range systems available on the Romanian market in 2025.

Unboxing the ZMEU Comic Con Edition gaming PC

The system arrives in a large, well-protected box, so there should be no problems in transit. Unfortunately, the box doesn't reveal anything about the computer inside, except for its case model.

Design and hardware specifications

The first thing that stands out about the ZMEU Comic Con Edition is its Alphagear Adept case, and that’s quite a smart choice for a mid-range system. It's a fairly compact but well-cooled middle-tower case, with four pre-installed ARGB fans (three on the front and one on the back), which provide efficient airflow for cooling the entire system. The side panel is fully transparent tempered glass, highlighting both the RGB lighting and interior layout. And while I’m on the subject, it's worth mentioning that the interior is spacious, and cable management is done by the book. Not a single cable is left out of place, and everything is neatly tucked away.

Apart from the exterior, what really matters is what's inside. Here, the ZMEU Comic Con Edition offers a well-rounded configuration. The CPU is a six-core, 12-thread AMD Ryzen 5 5600 built on the Zen 3 architecture. It runs at 3.5GHz and boosts up to 4.4GHz, which makes it a great fit for 1080p and even 1440p gaming. It does very well in modern games and keeps a stable frame rate without becoming a bottleneck for the GPU. It's not a flagship, but it doesn't have to be: it delivers everything you need in today's games without drawing a lot of power or overheating.

The key element of the system is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and Ada Lovelace architecture. It's one of the most efficient graphics cards of its generation, with a power consumption of just 115W and excellent performance in 1080p, and it also offers a decent performance in 1440p if you balance the graphics quality settings. The GeForce RTX 4060 GPU comes with full ray-tracing support, as well as DLSS 3 and Frame Generation, which means it can run demanding titles, like Cyberpunk 2077 or Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, with full graphics effects, at comfortable framerates. Even if its (VRAM) memory of 8 GB is limited in the long term, it should be enough in the near future for the resolutions offered by this system.

Another good thing is the RAM: 32 GB DDR4 dual-channel 3200 MHz. That's enough for gaming, but also for multitasking, streaming, video editing (at a semi-professional level) or running several applications simultaneously.

In terms of storage, the ZMEU Comic Con Edition includes a 1TB NVMe Kingston NV3 SSD, connected via PCIe 4.0 x4. It's a fast SSD, offering read/write speeds of up to 6000 and 4000 MB/s respectively, more than enough to efficiently run Windows 11, games, and apps. Boot times are fast, and games load in an instant. The generous storage space lets you easily install six to ten large games.

All the components above are mounted on a Gigabyte B550M AORUS Elite motherboard, a good choice for this setup. It's PCIe 4.0 compatible, has a decent VRM, plenty of USB ports, two M.2 slots and four SATA slots for future expansion. It's a stable, reliable motherboard compatible with a fairly wide range of future upgrades, and so is the power supply - a 650W Gigabyte 80+ Silver with good efficiency, stable power supply and enough power.

The ZMEU Comic Con Edition is a well-equipped system, offering a nice design and choice components for gaming enthusiasts who don't want to waste money on things they don't need.

Using the ZMEU Comic Con Edition gaming PC

After taking it out of the box and placing it on my desk, the first thing that surprised me about the ZMEU Comic Con Edition was how quiet it is. Gaming systems in this price range usually tend to get noisy under load, but that wasn't the case at all here. Even during longer gaming sessions, the fans were quiet, with no annoying vibrations or humming. In everyday use, the system boots up quickly, Windows loads in seconds thanks to the NVMe SSD, and everything runs smoothly, from navigating menus to installing apps or downloading games. It's the kind of PC that doesn't slow you down at all and doesn't keep you waiting. I'm sure you'll appreciate that a lot, especially if you're making the transition from a slower, years-old system.

Working on the ZMEU PC is a delight :)

Working on the ZMEU PC is a delight 🙂

I started off testing the computer with a lighter game: League of Legends. It ran flawlessly, with hundreds of FPS and no stutter. The pairing of Ryzen 5 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is more than enough for eSports or competitive gaming. And if you have a monitor with a high refresh rate (144 Hz or above), you can really feel the difference.

I then moved on to something heavy: Star Wars Outlaws. With details maxed out and DLSS enabled with Frame Generation, the game looks gorgeous and runs well even in 1440p. Even in the most crowded scenes, I didn't see drops below 60 FPS, and it responded instantly to commands. Temperatures were also good, with the CPU around 60°C and the video card below 70°C, a sign that the system is properly ventilated and the cooling is working as it should.

By the way, the ZMEU does great outside gaming too. Whether it's web browsing, 4K content or light photo editing, everything runs smoothly.

All in all, the ZMEU Comic Con Edition PC experience is exactly as it should be: smooth, quiet, painless, with consistent performance in any scenario and everything you need to enjoy playing games right out of the box.

Performance in benchmarks

I started with Bootracer to see how fast the system boots up. On average, it took about 25 seconds to fully load Windows 11. That's a very good time, confirming that you won't have to wait too long to launch your favorite game.🙂

I then moved on to PCMark 10 to simulate typical usage scenarios: browsing, video conferencing, Office apps, etc. The system scored 6944 points, proving that it's not only good at gaming, but also very capable in everyday tasks.

The 1TB SSD proved to be very fast in CrystalDiskMark: it offers excellent read/write speeds, more than enough for any purpose, be it gaming or apps. As you can see in the graph below, I measured a data read speed of 6421.49 MB/s and a data write speed of 2611.67 MB/s.

I ran a CPU stress test with Prime95 to check the cooling as well. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 AMD Ryzen peaked at 59°C, and the fan noise was present but not annoying. Specifically, the ZMEU's noise output, measured with the phone placed directly on the case, was somewhere around 47 decibels. That's excellent, especially when you consider that you get about 40 decibels in a quiet library. It's like having a cool DRAGON (that’s what the ZMEU creature is often interpreted as, in Romania) at your feet, whispering to keep playing.

Having said that, after testing how the system performs in productivity tasks, I moved on to what really matters for a gaming computer: its gaming performance. And to really challenge this PC's GPU and CPU, I ran a number of modern AAA games in both 1080p and 1440p resolutions, with high graphics settings. For comparison, I also ran the same tests on a similar setup, using the AMD Radeon RX 7600, a GPU in a similar price range. Here are the results:

Gaming performance

The system has been tested in a number of modern AAA games, at high/ultra graphics settings, in both 1080p Full HD and 1440p (QHD), to see where the Ryzen 5 5600 plus GeForce RTX 4060 pairing ranks. Furthermore, I'll also compare the results with an equivalent AMD Radeon RX 7600 (a rival GPU with a similar price) setup to evaluate its price/performance ratio. Here's how the ZMEU Comic Con Edition performed in some popular titles:

In Starfield, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 rendered an average of 57 FPS in 1080p and 46 FPS in 1440p, compared to 41 and 33 FPS respectively for the AMD Radeon RX 7600. That's about 39% more in both resolutions. Since the game doesn't support DLSS and relies solely on FSR, the differences should come from the native performance. Or, in other words, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 in ZMEU does better at flying between planets, even without the magic of upscaling and Frame Generation algorithms.

In Cyberpunk 2077, with Ray Tracing Ultra settings, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 delivered 32 FPS in 1080p and 21 FPS in 1440p. The AMD Radeon RX 7600 trailed behind with 28 and just 7 FPS, which is a 14% difference in Full HD and a whopping 200% in 1440p. You won't be able to play this game without upscaling and Frame Generation. But with them enabled and with some more reasonable quality settings, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 will cope without problems. I'm not so sure about the AMD Radeon RX 7600, which almost turned into a screenshot card in 1440p. 🙂

In The Callisto Protocol, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 delivered 62 FPS in 1080p and 46 FPS in 1440p, compared to the 40 and 26 FPS of the AMD Radeon RX 7600. That's a 55% increase in Full HD and 77% in 1440p. We're talking about a major leap that makes all the difference in a game where every reflection and shadow seems to tell you that your GPU needs antifreeze to keep it from boiling.

In Total War: Warhammer III, the differences are more even. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 averaged 88 FPS in 1080p and 57 in 1440p, while the AMD Radeon RX 7600 delivered 82 and 51 FPS respectively. The result? A 7% advantage in Full HD and 12% in 1440p for NVIDIA. Not terribly dramatic, but enough to say that ZMEU is calling the shots on the battlefield. 🙂

The next game I tested, Resident Evil Village, also ran great on both GPUs, but the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 was ahead with 88 FPS in 1080p and 71 FPS in 1440p. AMD's Radeon RX 7600 came in at 70 and 59 FPS, or 26% and 20% behind. While both systems do well in this title, I can say again that for someone running from Lady Dimitrescu, every extra frame helps.

In F1 22, there are minor differences: 82 FPS in 1080p and 53 FPS in 1440p for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, compared to 79 and 51 FPS for the AMD Radeon RX 7600. That's an extra 3-4%, which may seem insignificant, but it's there nonetheless.

Finally, we also ran some synthetic benchmarks. In the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 scored 5462 points, 13% higher than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (4835 points). However, in the 3DMark Speed Way, where there's a lot of ray tracing, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 bounced back: 2642 points, more than 35% more than the AMD Radeon RX 7600 (1947 points). The results reflect what is also seen in games: in simple rasterization, the two GPUs are close, but in those with ray-tracing effects, NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060 has a clear advantage.

Benchmark results in 3DMark

To sum up, I'd say it's pretty clear that the ZMEU Comic Con Edition gaming PC gives you a good level of performance in today's games, but it's also very capable for working with any productivity applications. And PC Garage got the GPU right. Had they opted for the AMD Radeon RX 7600, the gaming performance wouldn't have been as rewarding.
