Xiaomi has confirmed that its 18 Pro series is going global this year. That single line is the whole commitment, with no date, no market list and no price outside China.
The confirmation came from Xiaomi's own account and from founder and chief executive Lei Jun, in short posts around the China launch event on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
What Xiaomi actually said
"Xiaomi 18 Pro Series is going global this year," the company wrote, calling the phones "the world's first smartphones powered by Snapdragon Dual 8 Elites."
Lei Jun was briefer still. "Our global users have been asking for this, and it's coming," he wrote, repeating the same commitment.
The phrase "Dual 8 Elites" is Xiaomi's own. It signals that the Pro and the Pro Max use two different Snapdragon chips, though Xiaomi does not say which gets which.
What Xiaomi has not said
There is no launch date beyond "this year." Xiaomi has not named a single country or region for the rollout.
Global pricing has not been published in any currency. Xiaomi's posts refer only to the "18 Pro Series" and never single out the transparent special edition China gets.
The United States is neither confirmed nor ruled out, because Xiaomi named no markets. Xiaomi sells its flagship phones through no US carrier and keeps no branded US retail presence.
One naming point is worth fixing. Xiaomi's China storefront lists the Xiaomi 18 Fold as a separate model from 10,999 yuan, and it is not an 18 Pro variant.
China prices, and why converting them rarely helps
Xiaomi's own China storefront lists the 18 Pro from 5,999 yuan and the 18 Pro Max from 6,999 yuan. At the rough rate behind the conversions reported for the special edition, that is about $895 and $1,045.
Those converted figures are not a forecast. Xiaomi's global flagship prices have historically landed well above a straight yuan conversion once duties, taxes, warranty and margin are added.
The fuller configuration ladder is reported rather than read from a Xiaomi page. It tops out at 8,999 yuan for a 16GB and 1TB 18 Pro, and 9,999 yuan for the same Pro Max.
The transparent red special edition has been reported at 9,999 yuan for the Pro and 10,999 yuan for the Pro Max, both fixed at 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Those convert to roughly $1,490 and $1,639.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Extreme Gen 6 specifications
The chip names are where coverage tends to slip. Qualcomm's briefs call them the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, not a "Gen 6 Pro" variant.
Both are 2nm parts with the same CPU layout, according to those briefs. Each pairs two Qualcomm Oryon Prime cores at up to 5.0GHz with six Performance cores at up to 4.0GHz, over 16MB of Oryon Flex Cache.

Both support LPDDR5x or LPDDR6 up to 5300MHz and 24GB, with UFS 5.0 storage. Qualcomm lists the X105 5G modem at 14.8Gbps down and FastConnect 8800 Wi-Fi at 11.6Gbps.
The Extreme part is the higher tier, adding 18MB of Adreno high-bandwidth memory and a 320MP-capable ISP. Qualcomm has already shown sizeable CPU and GPU gains for the Extreme Gen 6.
Which chip goes in which phone is not stated by either company. The reported pairing puts the Elite Gen 6 in the 18 Pro and the Extreme in the 18 Pro Max.
Everything else is reported, not confirmed
Xiaomi's spec pages for the series build their tables through client-side scripting, and could not be read as text for this article. Every figure below comes from launch-event coverage, not from Xiaomi.
Reported displays are a 6.4-inch AMOLED on the 18 Pro and a 6.9-inch AMOLED on the 18 Pro Max, both LTPO with up to 4,000 nits peak. Reported accounts disagree on the top refresh rate, so no figure is given here.
Both models are reported to carry a secondary rear display and a privacy screen mode. Software is reported as HyperOS 4, and both phones are reported as IP68 rated.
The cameras are reported as a dual 200MP Leica setup. A 200MP main sensor at 1/1.28-inch and f/1.67 sits behind a Summilux lens, with around seven stops of stabilization.
The reported periscope is a second 200MP camera at 1/1.56-inch and f/2.4, about 75mm, giving 3.2x optical zoom. A 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera are reported too.
Batteries are reported at 7,000mAh and 8,500mAh respectively, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
What is missing is the part that matters outside China. As of September 26, 2026, Xiaomi has published no global date, no market list and no global price, and has said nothing about update length.
Nothing confirms the transparent red edition travels beyond China either. China prices can change, and the reported specifications above can shift once Xiaomi publishes global pages.
