This year’s showcase arrives at an important moment for Xbox. The company has been trying to reset its message after months of brand confusion, leadership changes, and criticism from longtime fans. With Asha Sharma now leading Xbox, the June event could become one of Microsoft’s first major chances to show what the new direction actually means for players.
The main showcase is expected to run for about an hour, based on previous Xbox events. Microsoft has not confirmed the exact length, but the format sounds familiar: a broad games focused presentation first, followed by a separate deep dive into one major release.
Gears of War: E Day is the only game originally confirmed for the show, and the follow up Direct suggests Microsoft wants to give it serious attention. Fable will also appear during the showcase. Xbox’s Matt Booty has confirmed that Playground Games’ reboot will get another look, even though the game has now been delayed to February 2027.
