Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition Could Arrive Through Discord Nitro

Microsoft seems to be working on a new Xbox Game Pass option called Starter Edition, but it may not launch as a separate subscription plan. Instead, it could be offered as a benefit for Discord Nitro users.

A leaked banner shared by DiscordPreviews suggests that this bundle may give Nitro members access to more than 50 games, including titles like Stardew Valley and Fallout 4. It may also include 10 hours of cloud gaming each month, Xbox Rewards for playing, and cloud streaming support for some games from a user’s Xbox library.

This would make Starter Edition different from the current Xbox Game Pass plans, such as Ultimate, Premium, Essential, and PC Game Pass. Those are regular Microsoft subscriptions, while this new version appears to be tied to Discord’s paid Nitro service.

The full details are still unknown. Microsoft and Discord have not officially announced the offer, and the complete game list has not been shared yet. It is also unclear which owned Xbox games will work through cloud streaming.

Still, the move would fit Microsoft’s recent push to make Game Pass more flexible. Xbox boss Asha Sharma recently said Microsoft is working with Discord on new Game Pass options. For now, the Starter Edition should be treated as a leak until either company confirms it.
