Xbox players have a new Free Play Days lineup to check out, and this week’s offer has a mix of strategy, sports, city building, and survival games. Microsoft has opened access to Age of Mythology: Retold, MLB The Show 26, Anno 117: Pax Romana, and The Survivalists for a limited time.
The offer is available during the weekend and gives players a chance to test these games before buying them. As usual with Free Play Days, any progress made during the trial period will carry over if the player decides to purchase the full game later. This is useful for people who want to try a game properly instead of watching videos or reading reviews before spending money.
Age of Mythology: Retold is open to all Xbox players, while the other games need a Game Pass plan
The biggest difference in this week’s lineup is how access works. Age of Mythology: Retold can be played by all Xbox players during the promotion. A Game Pass subscription is not needed for this one.
That makes it a good chance for more players to try the modern version of the classic strategy game. Age of Mythology is a spin-off from the Age of Empires series, but instead of focusing only on history, it brings in gods, monsters, and myth-based powers. The Retold version adds updated graphics, improved controls, and newer content through DLC.
The other three games are tied to Xbox Game Pass. Players need Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential to try MLB The Show 26, Anno 117: Pax Romana, and The Survivalists.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is likely to interest players who enjoy city-building and management games. It is set in the Roman era and lets players build and manage settlements while dealing with the needs of their people and the wider world around them.
MLB The Show 26 brings a sports option to the list. It is the latest entry in the long-running baseball series and is available for Xbox Series X and Series S players during the promotion.
The Survivalists offers a different kind of experience. It is a survival sandbox game set in the same universe as The Escapists. Players can explore, craft, build, and try to survive either alone or with others.
The available platforms are also different for each game. MLB The Show 26 and Anno 117: Pax Romana are available on Xbox Series X and Series S. The Survivalists can be played on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Age of Mythology: Retold is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Players can find the Free Play Days titles from the Xbox Store. On console, they can go to the Store, open the Home section from the sidebar, and then choose the Subscriptions tab. The Free Play Days collection should appear there.
