The Witcher 3 Remastered Is Getting More Performance and Visual Fixes After Two Early Patches

CD Projekt Red is continuing to improve The Witcher 3 Remastered after releasing two smaller patches shortly after launch. The next update does not yet have a release date, but the studio has confirmed that performance improvements, visual fixes and several console specific issues are currently being worked on.

PlayStation 5 performance is receiving particular attention. The remastered version launched last week across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2, bringing upgraded visuals and gameplay changes to the long running RPG.

The visual improvements have also increased the hardware demands compared with the previous next generation version, leading to performance concerns on some platforms.

PS5 Performance Is One of the Main Priorities

CD Projekt Red says further performance optimization is underway, with PlayStation 5 specifically mentioned as an area of focus.

Console players have fewer ways to work around performance problems than PC players. On PC, you can adjust settings, install optimization mods or return to an earlier version of the game. Console versions provide much less flexibility, making official patches particularly important.

The studio is also preparing additional visual adjustments following earlier fixes that addressed lighting problems.

Ukrainian localizationWider regional availability on PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S

ModsMore mod support planned across platforms

CD Projekt Red has not said that this list represents everything coming in the next patch. The studio is still investigating additional problems reported by players, which means more fixes could be included before the update is released.

Console Audio and Localization Fixes Are Also Coming

Performance is not the only area receiving attention.

The developer is working on voiceover audio problems affecting the console versions. Ukrainian localization is also expected to become available across additional regions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.

My Rewards and Twitch Drops issues are being addressed as well.

These smaller fixes may not affect performance directly, but they are important for players who have encountered missing rewards, regional restrictions or audio problems since launch.

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that work continues on bringing additional mods to more platforms. Mod support has become an increasingly important part of The Witcher 3 Remastered, especially as the new edition introduces significant graphical and technical changes.

The Remaster’s Visual Upgrades Come With Higher Demands

The Witcher 3 Remastered offers noticeable graphical improvements over the earlier version, along with gameplay adjustments intended to modernize the experience.

However, the enhanced presentation appears to require more processing power. The new edition does not consistently run as smoothly as the previous next generation release across PC and consoles.

PC players have already started using community modifications to improve path tracing performance and adjust demanding graphical settings.

Those options are not available in the same way on consoles, leaving official optimization as the main route to better performance.

The two patches released shortly after launch show that CD Projekt Red is moving quickly to address early problems. Lighting has already received attention, while the next phase will focus more heavily on performance, visuals and console specific issues.

There is currently no confirmed date for the next update.

For players who are waiting for smoother performance before starting another journey with Geralt, particularly on PlayStation 5, the upcoming patch could be important. CD Projekt Red is clearly treating the remaster as an ongoing technical project rather than considering its launch version finished.
