The Blood of Dawnwalker now has detailed PC requirements, and the top-end numbers look heavy at first glance. Rebel Wolves says players will need an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 to run the game at native 4K, 60 FPS, and the Ultra preset without upscaling or frame generation.
That sounds extreme, but it does not mean every player will need a flagship GPU to enjoy the game. The studio made an important point: these targets were measured at native resolution, with no DLSS, FSR, or frame generation enabled. Since The Blood of Dawnwalker will support modern upscaling features, real-world performance could be much better on weaker GPUs.
The Blood of Dawnwalker’s native specs look demanding because Rebel Wolves is not counting DLSS, FSR, or frame generation
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world fantasy action RPG built on Unreal Engine 5. That already explains part of the heavy requirement list. Unreal Engine 5 games can look impressive, but they can also ask a lot from modern hardware, especially at high resolutions and higher quality presets.
The minimum requirement starts at 1080p and 30 FPS on Low settings. For that, Rebel Wolves lists GPUs such as the RTX 3050, GTX 1070, AMD RX Vega 56, or Intel Arc A580, with 6GB of VRAM. That is not too harsh for a modern PC game.
The big jump comes at the higher end. For 1440p at 60 FPS on Ultra, the game asks for an RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX. For native 4K at 60 FPS on Ultra, the listed GPU is the RTX 5090.
| Target | Preset | GPU | VRAM |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 FPS | Low | RTX 3050 / GTX 1070 / RX Vega 56 / Arc A580 | 6GB |
| 1080p at 60 FPS | High | RTX 5060 / RX 6800 XT | 12GB |
| 1440p at 60 FPS | High | RTX 4070 Ti / RX 7800 XT | 12GB |
| 1440p at 60 FPS | Ultra | RTX 4080 / RX 7900 XTX | 16GB |
| 4K at 60 FPS | Ultra | RTX 5090 | 16GB |
The CPU requirements are also fairly high in the upper tiers. Rebel Wolves lists an Intel Core i5-13600K or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X for the Ultra presets. All listed tiers require 16GB of RAM, a 60GB SSD, Windows 10, and DirectX 12.
The most important detail is that upscaling will soften the blow. DLSS and FSR are now common in demanding PC games because they let players render at a lower internal resolution and reconstruct a sharper final image. Frame generation can also help increase perceived smoothness, depending on the GPU and settings.
So, the RTX 5090 requirement should be read carefully. It applies to native 4K Ultra at 60 FPS, not necessarily to 4K gameplay with upscaling. Many players with strong but less expensive cards may still get a good experience if they use DLSS or FSR.
Rebel Wolves has not yet shared detailed console performance information. The game is set to launch on September 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
For now, the PC specs suggest that The Blood of Dawnwalker could be a visually ambitious game, but also one that expects players to use modern performance tools. Native 4K Ultra may be reserved for the most powerful PCs, while upscaling should make the game more realistic for everyone else.
