Samsung Plans 24.5 Inch FHD QD OLED Panels for Esports Monitors by the End of 2026

Samsung Display is expanding its QD OLED lineup with a new 24.5 inch Full HD panel aimed directly at competitive gaming. Mass production is scheduled to begin by the end of 2026, with the new size targeting FPS and esports players who prefer smaller, faster displays.

Several PC monitor manufacturers have already announced plans to use the 24.5 inch panel in upcoming products. Detailed specifications such as refresh rate, response time and pricing have not yet been disclosed, so those points remain unknown for now.

The move is significant because QD OLED technology has mostly appeared in larger and more expensive gaming monitors. Bringing it to a 24.5 inch Full HD format could make OLED more accessible to players who prioritize speed and compact screen size over higher resolutions.

Samsung is targeting the competitive gaming market

The 24.5 inch format is widely used in esports because it allows players to see most of the screen without moving their eyes as much as they might on a larger display.

That can be useful in fast games where quick reactions matter more than cinematic image quality or high resolution.

Samsung says gaming is one of the areas where fast response times and image quality are especially easy to notice. The company plans to use the smaller panel size to broaden its QD OLED lineup rather than keeping the technology concentrated in premium ultrawide and 4K monitors.

Smaller QD OLED monitors could widen adoption

QD OLED combines self emissive OLED pixels with quantum dot color conversion. In gaming monitors, that typically brings very fast pixel response, deep blacks and strong color performance.

The main question is how aggressively Samsung and its partners will price these new 24.5 inch models.

If pricing remains close to larger premium OLED displays, they may stay limited to enthusiasts. If the smaller panel helps reduce costs, the format could reach a much wider esports audience.

Samsung also says several manufacturers showed plans for upcoming monitors based on the panel during Gamescom 2026, which suggests the format may appear across multiple brands rather than only in Samsung branded displays.

Samsung is already a major supplier of self emissive monitor panels

The company shipped about 2.5 million QD OLED monitor panels last year, according to market data cited in the announcement. That represented nearly 75 percent of the overall self emissive monitor panel market.

Expanding into 24.5 inch Full HD monitors could strengthen that position by moving QD OLED into one of the most common sizes used by competitive PC players.

For now, the most important missing details are refresh rate, expected brightness, exact panel generation and pricing. Those specifications will determine whether these displays become mainstream esports options or remain premium products in a smaller form factor.
