Nvidia’s RTX Spark platform has received another early gaming tease, and this time the chip is shown running Alan Wake 2 with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction enabled. That is notable because Alan Wake 2 remains one of the most demanding PC games available, especially when path tracing and advanced lighting features are turned on.
The teaser matters because RTX Spark is not being positioned as a normal low power Windows on Arm chip. Nvidia is trying to show that its new platform can handle serious graphics workloads, AI features, creative apps, and modern games. Running Alan Wake 2, even in a controlled demo, gives the company a strong way to suggest that RTX Spark has far more GPU power than earlier Windows on Arm laptops.
Still, there is an important catch. Nvidia has not shown full performance numbers. The image shared by Jacob Freeman shows the game running with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, but it does not reveal the resolution, frame rate, graphics preset, path tracing settings, or whether Multi Frame Generation was active. Without those details, it is impossible to judge how close the experience is to a normal gaming laptop.

That uncertainty is important because Alan Wake 2 can punish even powerful desktop and laptop GPUs. The game uses Remedy’s Northlight engine and can become extremely demanding when path tracing is enabled. DLSS and Frame Generation can help a lot, but the base GPU still needs enough power to keep the experience smooth.

RTX Spark may have an advantage in memory. The platform can support up to 128GB of LPDDR5X unified memory, which could help with heavy games and creative workloads that need more memory space. But memory capacity alone does not guarantee high frame rates. The GPU still has to process path tracing, lighting, shading, and reconstruction fast enough.
Nvidia has already claimed that RTX Spark laptops can run games at 1440p and 100 FPS, but those claims need independent testing. The company has also shown the chip running 007 First Light and Forza Horizon 6 on battery power. These are impressive demos, but Nvidia has been careful not to display clear benchmark overlays or public FPS numbers.
That careful approach makes sense. RTX Spark is entering a difficult market. Windows on Arm has improved, but buyers still worry about app support, game compatibility, emulation, battery life, and pricing. If Nvidia shows numbers too early and they are not strong enough, the platform could lose momentum before retail devices arrive.
The hardware still looks promising. RTX Spark includes a Blackwell based GPU with the same CUDA core count as a desktop RTX 5070, at least on paper. It also brings Nvidia’s software stack, including DLSS, Reflex, RTX ray tracing, and Ray Reconstruction. That software support may give it a better gaming path than previous Arm based Windows platforms.
The bigger question is whether RTX Spark can deliver strong real world performance inside actual laptops. A chip can look powerful in a demo, but retail systems must manage heat, fan noise, battery drain, chassis size, and long gaming sessions. A short showcase does not answer those questions.
If Nvidia can make RTX Spark gaming feel close to a real RTX laptop experience, it could change expectations for Windows on Arm. Instead of being seen mainly as thin productivity machines, Arm based Windows laptops could become serious creator and gaming devices.
For now, the Alan Wake 2 teaser is a useful signal, but not proof. It shows that RTX Spark can run one of PC gaming’s toughest titles with advanced Nvidia features enabled. What buyers still need are clear benchmarks, tested retail hardware, and honest performance numbers.
RTX Spark laptops are expected later this year, so the real test is still ahead. Until then, Nvidia has done enough to make the platform interesting. Running Alan Wake 2 on Windows on Arm is not a small claim. Now Nvidia needs to show exactly how well it runs.
