Oppo has officially expanded its tablet lineup with the Oppo Pad Air 5 in China. The new mid-range tablet focuses on a large display, long battery life, and modern connectivity for entertainment and everyday productivity.
Big display and smooth visuals
The Oppo Pad Air 5 features a 12.1-inch LCD panel with a 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This combination aims to deliver sharper visuals and smoother scrolling for video playback, browsing, and light gaming.
Oppo positions the screen as a key upgrade for users who spend a lot of time watching content or reading on a larger display.
Large battery with fast charging
One of the headline features is the tablet’s 10,050mAh battery. Oppo pairs the large battery with 33W fast charging, which should help reduce downtime when you need to top up.
This setup targets long sessions like streaming, online classes, and work away from a charger.
Performance and hardware
Under the hood, the Pad Air 5 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset. The tablet ships with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
That spec combination places it in the upper mid-range segment for Android tablets, with enough headroom for multitasking and everyday apps.
Cameras, audio, and software
Oppo includes an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, both supporting up to 1080p video recording. For audio, the tablet features a quad-speaker system designed to improve video and gaming playback.
On the software side, it runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16, bringing Oppo’s latest tablet UI and customization features.
Connectivity and design
The tablet supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, USB-C, and optional 5G on select variants. It measures 6.83mm thick and weighs just under 600 grams, keeping the design relatively slim for a large-screen device.
Oppo offers the Pad Air 5 in Space Gray and Starlight Powder color options.
Pricing and availability
In China, pricing starts at CNY 1,899 for the base configuration and goes up to CNY 2,699 for higher RAM and storage variants. Pre-orders are already open, with official sales scheduled to begin on December 31, 2025.
What’s next
Oppo has not confirmed international availability for the Pad Air 5 yet. If Oppo follows past release patterns, a wider rollout could happen later, depending on market demand and regional plans.
