JGINYUE Launches $58 B650 PCIe Expansion Card With Four M.2 Slots and 10 Gbps USB C

JGINYUE has launched an unusual PCIe expansion card built around AMD’s B650 chipset, giving desktop PCs additional storage, networking and USB connectivity without requiring a motherboard replacement.

The card is priced at 388 yuan, or roughly $58, and includes four M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs, a 10 Gbps USB Type C port, two USB Type A ports and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet.

The idea is similar to another recent B650 based expansion card, but JGINYUE has made several changes to its retail design, including additional cooling and power options.

Four M.2 Slots Make Storage Expansion a Major Focus

One of the most useful features is support for four M.2 NVMe SSDs. This could make the card appealing if your motherboard has limited M.2 capacity but still has an available PCIe slot.

Instead of replacing your existing board or relying on several separate expansion cards, the B650 card combines storage and other connectivity on a single PCB.

JGINYUE has also included a 6 pin PCIe power connector. While that may initially look unusual for a storage and connectivity card, the connector is primarily intended to provide additional power for its USB ports.

The company recommends connecting auxiliary power even when the card is mainly being used with M.2 SSDs. The extra power provides additional headroom and should help maintain stable operation when several devices are connected at the same time.

Optional Fan Support Is Built Into the Card

The retail version includes a four pin fan header along with two mounting points that allow a 40 mm fan to be installed directly on the PCB.

The fan itself is not included, so you would need to purchase one separately.

There is also an important limitation. The onboard fan header does not provide adjustable speed control, meaning a connected fan cannot dynamically change its speed through the card.

Even so, the option could be useful in systems where several NVMe drives are installed close together. SSDs can generate considerable heat during sustained workloads, while the B650 chipset itself also requires cooling.

Adding a small fan could help maintain airflow around both the chipset and installed drives.

The current model offers a 10 Gbps USB Type C connection, but JGINYUE also plans to release a faster version with 20 Gbps USB connectivity later.

At around $58, the card provides an unusual combination of features for desktop PCs with spare PCIe capacity. Four M.2 slots alone can make expansion cards useful, but combining them with USB and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet gives the product a broader purpose.

The design could be particularly useful for older or smaller motherboards with limited onboard connectivity. Rather than replacing the entire platform, you can add additional storage, networking and USB functionality through one PCIe slot.

Its value will ultimately depend on compatibility, PCIe bandwidth allocation and real world performance when several devices are active simultaneously. Still, putting AMD’s B650 chipset onto an affordable expansion card gives PC builders another way to extend systems that have run out of motherboard ports.
