Ikea and Xbox Launch Nine Piece YXSTABY Gaming Furniture Collection Starting at $17.99

Ikea and Xbox have launched a new gaming focused furniture and home decor collection called YXSTABY, bringing nine products to stores with prices starting at $17.99.

The collection became available in Ikea stores on October 1, while online orders are scheduled to open on November 30. The products are planned for a worldwide rollout, although local pricing may differ depending on the market.

Rather than focusing only on traditional gaming desks and chairs, YXSTABY covers smaller accessories, storage furniture and pieces designed for living rooms or gaming spaces. Prices range from $17.99 for the D pad platter and cushion to $179.99 for a side table on castors.

The nine products were developed jointly by Ikea and Xbox. The companies have taken familiar gaming shapes, such as controller buttons and thumbsticks, and turned them into furniture and accessories intended to work in ordinary rooms.

One of the more recognizable products is the Thumbstick stool, available in green or black for $49.99. There is also a $29.99 controller display box for people who want to keep a controller visible while protecting or organizing it.

Larger furniture includes a TV stand on castors for $149.99 and a side table on castors priced at $179.99. Ikea is also offering a lounge chair for $119.99.

Thumbstick stool$49.99
TV stand on castors$149.99
Controller display box$29.99
Side table on castors$179.99
Monitor stand$39.99
Lounge chair$119.99
D pad platter$17.99
D pad cushion$17.99
Laptop support$34.99

The lower priced items make the collection accessible to people who do not want to redesign an entire room. A monitor stand costs $39.99, while the laptop support is priced at $34.99.

Ikea says the idea behind the collection is to make gaming equipment feel more naturally integrated into the home. That approach is visible in products such as the mobile TV stand and side table, which can be moved between rooms rather than remaining permanently attached to a dedicated gaming setup.

The collaboration also expands Ikea's existing presence in gaming furniture. The company already sells products developed around gaming setups, including previous collaborations in the category.

One unusual aspect of YXSTABY is its pricing compared with modern game releases. Six of the nine products cost less than $79.99, a price now commonly associated with major new console and PC games. Even the Thumbstick stool, monitor stand, controller display box, laptop support, D pad platter and cushion come in below that figure.

The collection therefore offers Xbox branded products at prices that are relatively modest compared with many licensed gaming accessories. At the higher end, the $149.99 TV stand and $179.99 side table are positioned more like conventional furniture purchases.

YXSTABY also shows how gaming products are increasingly moving beyond dedicated hardware. Instead of another controller, headset or console accessory, the Xbox partnership focuses on how gaming fits into a living space.

With store availability already underway and online sales following on November 30, the collection gives Xbox fans a new set of options for adding gaming themed furniture without relying on the aggressive styling commonly associated with gaming products.
