iBUYPOWER Enters Mini PC Market With $3,999 Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 System

iBUYPOWER is entering the mini PC market with a high end system built around AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, bringing the company's prebuilt PC experience into a much smaller form factor.

The new PRO AMD AI Halo Mini PC starts at $3,999 and is expected to become available during the current quarter. It is positioned as a compact workstation for professional applications, local AI workloads and gaming.

At the center of the system is AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, a 16 core and 32 thread Zen 5 processor that combines CPU, NPU and integrated graphics resources in a single package.

The processor includes Radeon 8065S integrated graphics, giving the system considerably more graphics capability than a typical office focused mini PC.

iBUYPOWER is pairing the chip with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory running at 8000 MT/s.

Storage support reaches 8 TB through two M.2 2280 SSD slots, giving buyers room to configure the machine for larger datasets, local AI models or professional project files.

128 GB Memory Is Powerful but Not Class Leading

The 128 GB maximum memory configuration should be useful for demanding workloads, particularly local large language models that benefit from access to a large shared memory pool.

However, it is no longer unusual among premium AMD mini PCs.

Several Strix Halo systems already offer 128 GB configurations, while newer Gorgon Halo based machines are beginning to reach 192 GB of unified memory.

Some of those systems can allocate as much as 160 GB for graphics related workloads.

That means iBUYPOWER's 128 GB ceiling is strong in absolute terms, but it does not lead the current mini PC market.

For many professional workloads, though, 128 GB remains more than enough and should give the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 significant flexibility.

Connectivity Includes Dual 10 Gb Ethernet and USB4

The new system also includes a strong collection of wired and wireless connectivity options.

Networking includes dual 10 Gb Ethernet, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

For peripherals and external storage, iBUYPOWER provides two USB4 Type C ports capable of speeds up to 40 Gbps, alongside USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports and additional USB 2.0 connections.

Display connectivity consists of DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1.

That makes the machine suitable for multi display workstation setups without requiring a separate graphics card.

iBUYPOWER Is Expanding Beyond Traditional Prebuilt PCs

iBUYPOWER has traditionally focused on full size prebuilt desktops and workstations, so the PRO AMD AI Halo Mini PC represents a notable expansion into compact systems.

The $3,999 starting price places it firmly in the premium workstation category rather than the mainstream mini PC market.

Its main appeal will likely come from the combination of AMD's flagship mobile processor, Radeon 8065S graphics, large memory capacity, fast networking and extensive storage support in a small chassis.

The company has not yet detailed every configuration or final retail option, but the new system is scheduled to go on sale during the current quarter.
