GTA 6 Collector's Box Costs $399.99 Without the Game as Creator Package Draws Envy

Rockstar Games is asking $399.99 for a Grand Theft Auto VI collector's box that does not include the game. The sharper comparison arrived on September 30, 2026, when a content creator published a video of a free Rockstar package that was never meant for sale.

The retail set is called Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. Rockstar's own store listing shows it at $399.99 under a Coming Soon badge, with a pre-order button.

That $399.99 is the price on Rockstar's own store page as captured on September 27, 2026. The live store does not serve pricing in every region, so a reader elsewhere may see a different figure or none at all.

Rockstar's announcement on September 24, 2026 says the box arrives on November 19 and is available while supplies last. It also states plainly that the game is sold separately.

What the $399.99 Vice City Collection contains

Rockstar's store lists eleven items. The centerpiece is a six-inch figure of Macca the Gator, an alligator mascot from a Leonida television show, with a twist-open stash compartment in its base.

The wearable items are the most conventional part of the set. There is a pair of matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses, a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback hat, and a ripstop crossbody bag with a debossed YKK zipper pull.

The rest is small collectibles. Rockstar lists a magnetic mirror in electroplated pink glass, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a swizzle spoon and a razor blade keychain.

The flat goods are nine enamel pins in a metal tin, nine vinyl stickers in a stash bag, and a double-sided poster with the Leonida map on its back. Rockstar is also selling the soundtrack separately, after it confirmed physical vinyl and CD editions in September.

The creator package is not a product

On September 30, 2026, the creator TmarTn posted on X that Rockstar Games had sent him a surprise Grand Theft Auto VI package. He linked a short video on his own channel and thanked Rockstar in the caption.

What the public can see of that package is his own photography. The thumbnail he published shows a plain matte black mailer carrying the white Rockstar logo, and a royal blue T-shirt printed with a postcard-style Greetings from Vice City design.

Beyond those two things, the contents are not established. Rockstar has published nothing about the package at all.

Its Newswire carries no post about creator or influencer mailings. As of October 3, 2026, the most recent Grand Theft Auto VI entry there is still the September 24 pre-order announcement.

That matters for anyone weighing the two against each other. The creator package has no price, no listing and no pre-order, because it is an unsolicited promotional mailing rather than something on sale.

Whether $399.99 is money well spent

The value question comes down to how much of the box a buyer would actually use. Three of the eleven items are wearable or carryable, and the Oakley and New Era collaborations are the parts with recognizable value outside the set.

The other eight are display pieces and paper. A swizzle spoon, a razor blade keychain and a shot glass are novelty objects, and sticker sheets and pin sets are the sort of thing publishers hand out at events.

Then there is the omission. The $399.99 covers none of the game, so anyone who wants to play on November 19 pays for a copy on top of it.

Rockstar does not list standard or Ultimate edition prices on the Grand Theft Auto VI site. Pre-orders run through the console stores, and one platform holder has called them record breaking without giving numbers.

What Rockstar has not published

Several details are missing from the official listing. Rockstar has not said how many boxes exist, whether there is a limit per customer, or the full list of countries it ships to.

Pre-orders across Asia, Latin America and Australia are still pending, and Rockstar has said only that details will follow. The $399.99 figure is the price on its US store as of October 3, 2026, and prices can change.

Nothing Rockstar has published suggests the creator items will ever go on sale. Until that changes, the better-looking box is the one nobody can order, while the game itself stays on course for November 19.
