Gears of War: Reloaded leads Xbox Game Pass additions for July 2026

Xbox Game Pass has added a new group of games for July 2026, with Gears of War: Reloaded serving as the main release in the latest update.

The enhanced version of the original Gears of War arrived on July 9 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, handheld devices, and cloud gaming. It gives new players a chance to experience the beginning of the series before Gears of War: E Day launches later this year.

Several other games are also joining the service throughout the month. The selection covers action, survival, sports, role playing, and simulation games, with availability depending on the platform and Game Pass tier.

Microsoft originally included Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 in the announcement but later removed it from the list. The game is therefore not joining Xbox Game Pass as part of this batch.

July brings games across console, PC, cloud, and handheld devices

Winds of Arcana: Ruination opened the latest group on July 6. It is available through cloud gaming, consoles, handheld devices, and PC for supported Game Pass plans.

Gears of War: Reloaded and Tamashika followed on July 9. Ascend to Zero arrived on July 13, while PBA Pro Bowling 2026 joined the service one day later.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check became available on July 15. Mavrix by Matt Jones followed on July 16, with FixForce and Fogpiercer scheduled for July 17.

The Planet Crafter will complete the announced group on July 21.

Gears of War: Reloaded updates the original game for modern hardware

Gears of War: Reloaded is a remastered version of the 2006 third person shooter that introduced Marcus Fenix, the Locust threat, and the cover based combat system that defined the series.

The new edition supports 4K resolution and frame rates of up to 120 frames per second on compatible hardware. It also includes the original game’s additional content, including an extra campaign act, multiplayer maps, and cosmetic items.

Cross play and cross progression are supported in multiplayer, allowing people on different platforms to play together while carrying their progress between compatible devices.

The remaster also includes additional accessibility settings. These options are intended to make the game more approachable without changing its basic combat, campaign structure, or visual identity.

Its arrival gives Xbox Game Pass subscribers a convenient way to revisit the first game before Gears of War: E Day releases on October 6, 2026. The upcoming prequel takes place during the beginning of the Locust invasion and follows younger versions of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago.

Ten games left Xbox Game Pass on July 15

The July update also removed several titles from the subscription catalogue.

Dungeons of Hinterberg, EA Sports FC 24, Stellaris, Golf With Your Friends, Minami Lane, and PowerWash Simulator left the service on July 15.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, Super Fantasy Kingdom, and Techtonica were also removed.

Subscribers who want to continue playing those games must purchase them separately. Save data should remain attached to the account, allowing progress to continue after buying a supported digital copy.

The latest Xbox Game Pass group offers a varied selection, but Gears of War: Reloaded is clearly the central addition. Its updated presentation, full content package, and multiplayer improvements make it suitable for both returning players and newcomers preparing for the next Gears of War release.
