Playback errors and streams failing to start are commonly caused by outdated app versions, aggressive battery settings, or network/VPN filters.
Before you start
- Test another streaming app on the same network.
- Disable VPN/Private DNS; set Date & Time to Automatic.
1. Force close and relaunch
Quit the app completely, then reopen.
2. Update the app
Install the latest Audacy version from your store.
3. Allow background audio
- iOS: Settings > Audacy > Background App Refresh ON.
- Android: Settings > Apps > Audacy > Battery > Don’t optimize.
4. Clear audio/cache data
- iOS: Offload App, reinstall.
- Android: Settings > Apps > Audacy > Storage > Clear cache.
5. Reset audio output
Unpair/repair Bluetooth; test device speaker; toggle Dolby/Spatial off.
6. Network checks
Switch Wi-Fi ↔ mobile data; disable VPN/Ad blockers; reboot router if at home.
7. Reinstall
Uninstall, reboot device, reinstall, sign back in.
Tips
- On Android, keep Battery Saver off during long streams.
- If a specific station fails, try a different one to isolate account vs station.
