Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Adds Edgerunners 2 Quests, Dual Wielding and Console Mod Support

CD Projekt Red has released Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, introducing new missions, dual wielding combat, expanded customization, and official mod support on consoles.

The free update is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and supported Mac storefronts. Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions will receive it later.

Developed with assistance from Virtuos, the update also introduces NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 support and several performance improvements.

Edgerunners 2 Characters Arrive in Night City

The update introduces Clampdown, a new quest connected to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.

Players encounter King, Mishuga, Miguel, and Emily during a mission exploring the events preceding the animated series.

To unlock the quest, you must complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako before receiving her message.

Completing the storyline provides access to a five piece equipment set inspired by King.

A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, also introduces 16 songs from both Edgerunners series.

Dual Wielding and Console Mods Expand Gameplay

Update 2.5 adds Double Trouble, a perk within the Cool attribute tree that allows V to equip two compatible Power pistols or revolvers simultaneously.

Four supporting perks provide additional combat options, while individual weapon effects remain available when combining compatible firearms.

Console players also gain access to community modifications through an integrated mod.io browser.

The system allows players to discover, install, enable, and disable supported mods directly within the game.

However, achievements and trophies are disabled when playing from modified saves.

New Customization and Graphics Improvements

Five Glamdocs now allow players to customize the appearance of arm cyberware, including Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System.

Additional content includes clothing collections, hairstyles, vehicle skins, and 12 new tarot cards.

The Welcome to Paradise quest becomes available after The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15.

Technical improvements include NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, enhanced HDR rendering, ray tracing optimizations, and a field of view slider for consoles.

Mac players receive MetalFX Frame Interpolation, while compatible Samsung monitors gain glasses free 3D support.

AMD FSR 3 upscaling has been removed, although FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain available.

Update 2.5 also improves save organization and fixes several progression and display issues, providing additional content for returning players.
