Black Friday 2026 is approaching, and several SSD manufacturers are already offering discounts on internal and external storage drives, giving PC gamers an opportunity to upgrade their systems before the main shopping event.
This year's offers include PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 SSDs from Samsung, Crucial, Kingston, TeamGroup and other manufacturers.
However, ongoing NAND flash memory shortages have pushed storage prices higher, meaning even discounted drives may cost considerably more than they did last year.
Black Friday officially falls on November 27, while Cyber Monday follows on November 30. Additional discounts could become available as those dates approach.
Early Black Friday SSD Deals Include 1TB, 2TB and 4TB Models
Several retailers have listed storage discounts across different capacities and performance categories.
Among the notable offers is the Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD, listed for $399.99, compared with its previous price of $679.97.
The Silicon Power UD90 4TB has also received a substantial discount, dropping from $539 to $289.79.
| SSD model | Capacity | Listed sale price |
|---|---|---|
| Kingston NV3 | 1TB | $156.50 |
| Crucial P310 | 1TB | $168.02 |
| Samsung 9100 PRO | 1TB | $249.99 |
| Crucial P310 | 2TB | $308.95 |
| Samsung 9100 PRO | 2TB | $399.99 |
| Silicon Power UD90 | 4TB | $289.79 |
| TeamGroup MP44 | 4TB | $325.99 |
These prices reflect advertised offers and may change depending on retailer availability.
PCIe 4.0 SSDs Remain Practical for Gaming PCs
Although PCIe 5.0 drives deliver significantly higher sequential speeds, PCIe 4.0 models remain suitable for most gaming workloads.

For example, the TeamGroup MP44 offers advertised sequential read speeds of 7,400 MB/s, while the Samsung 9100 PRO reaches up to 14,700 MB/s.
However, those performance differences do not necessarily translate into equally large improvements in game loading times.
Buyers should also check motherboard compatibility, available M.2 slots and cooling requirements before selecting a drive.
External SSDs Also Receive Early Discounts
Portable storage options are included in the early promotions.
The Adata SE880 1TB is listed for $149.99, while Samsung's T9 Portable SSD 1TB has dropped to $241.90.
Both offer advertised transfer speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s with compatible USB connections.
For gamers considering an upgrade, capacity, compatibility and sustained performance remain important considerations.
With memory prices still elevated, comparing the cost per terabyte could be more useful than focusing entirely on advertised percentage discounts.
