Ayaneo has officially revealed the Ayaneo Pocket Vert, a vertical handheld gaming device that blends classic Game Boy-inspired design with modern mobile hardware. The company opened early bird pre-orders through a crowdfunding campaign, starting at $269.

The Pocket Vert adopts a portrait-style layout, a rare choice in today’s handheld market. Ayaneo pairs the retro silhouette with a CNC-machined full-metal body and a glass front panel, aiming squarely at enthusiasts who value build quality as much as nostalgia.
Instead of traditional analog sticks, the device uses a hidden dual-mode touchpad beneath the main controls. This approach preserves the clean vertical look while supporting modern game input.

Ayaneo equips the Pocket Vert with a 3.5-inch display featuring a 1600×1440 resolution. The unusually high pixel density helps classic pixel art look sharp while still supporting modern Android games and emulation.

Early bird pricing starts at $269 for the base configuration, which includes 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Higher-tier models with expanded memory and storage push the crowdfunding price up to $369, including a distinctive Lava Red finish.
Ayaneo has confirmed that prices will increase once the campaign ends and retail availability begins.
