AOC has introduced two 34 inch curved gaming monitors designed to handle both high refresh rate gaming and everyday productivity.
The new models are the AOC Gaming CU34G4CA and CU34G4ZCA. Both use a 3440 by 1440 resolution, a 21:9 aspect ratio, and a 1500R curved Fast VA panel.
The main difference is refresh rate. The CU34G4CA runs at up to 180Hz, while the CU34G4ZCA operates at 240Hz and can be overclocked to 250Hz.
AOC has also added features normally associated with office monitors, including 90W USB C charging, DisplayPort Alt Mode, a built in KVM switch, and a USB hub. This allows either model to function as a central display for a gaming PC and a work laptop.
Both monitors are scheduled to reach retailers in August 2026.
The CU34G4ZCA is aimed at faster competitive gaming
The more expensive CU34G4ZCA is the stronger choice for players who value refresh rate and response time.
It runs at 240Hz by default and can be overclocked to 250Hz. AOC lists a response time of 0.3ms MPRT, compared with 0.5ms MPRT on the CU34G4CA.
The CU34G4CA still offers a high 180Hz refresh rate, which should be more than sufficient for most single player games, racing games, role playing games, and general desktop use.

The 250Hz model will require a powerful graphics card to approach its maximum refresh rate at 3440 by 1440. Competitive games with lighter graphics requirements are more likely to reach those frame rates than demanding modern releases.
USB C and KVM support make both monitors useful for work
Each monitor includes a USB C connection with up to 90W of Power Delivery.
A compatible laptop can send video to the monitor while receiving power through the same cable. This can reduce desk clutter and remove the need to connect a separate charger during office work.
The integrated KVM switch allows one keyboard and mouse to control two connected computers. For example, you could connect a desktop gaming PC through DisplayPort and a work laptop through USB C, then move between them without changing peripherals.

A built in USB hub provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports for devices such as a keyboard, mouse, headset, storage drive, or webcam.
These features make the monitors more practical for people who use the same desk for work and gaming.
Both models include DisplayHDR 400 certification
The CU34G4CA and CU34G4ZCA carry DisplayHDR 400 certification and can reach up to 450 nits of peak brightness during HDR use.
This should provide brighter highlights and stronger contrast than a basic SDR monitor, although DisplayHDR 400 remains an entry level HDR standard.
The Fast VA panels should offer good native contrast, which can help dark scenes look deeper than they would on many IPS monitors. However, actual HDR quality will depend on local dimming support, color performance, and how well each game or application handles HDR.
The 3440 by 1440 resolution gives users more horizontal workspace than a conventional 16:9 monitor. It is useful for wide timelines, multiple documents, large spreadsheets, and placing several windows side by side.
The ultrawide format can also improve immersion in racing games, simulation titles, and open world games that support 21:9 correctly.
Connectivity includes HDMI, DisplayPort, and an adjustable stand
Both monitors include two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 connection alongside USB C.
DisplayPort will generally be the preferred option for reaching the highest refresh rates from a desktop graphics card. HDMI 2.0 remains useful for additional computers and consoles, although consoles may not support the full ultrawide resolution.
AOC also includes an adjustable stand intended to provide better ergonomics during long gaming or work sessions.
The CU34G4CA will cost £289.99, while the faster CU34G4ZCA will cost £329.99.
The £40 difference makes the 250Hz model attractive for competitive players with hardware capable of driving very high frame rates. The 180Hz version offers most of the same productivity and connectivity features at a lower price.
Both monitors provide a useful combination of gaming performance and work focused connectivity. Their value will ultimately depend on panel quality, motion handling, color accuracy, and final regional pricing when they launch in August.
