Xbox Game Pass has not confirmed which games will leave the service in August 2026, but several titles are beginning to look like possible candidates based on when they originally joined the library. Microsoft usually announces removals around two weeks before they happen, so this list should be treated as an early watchlist rather than a confirmed departure schedule.
Many third party games remain on Game Pass for around one year, although agreements can vary widely. Some titles leave earlier, others stay much longer, and publishers can sometimes renew their deals shortly before a removal date. That means a game listed here could still remain available beyond August.
The biggest possible losses include Farming Simulator 25, Rain World, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Atlas Fallen, and several newer indie releases that arrived on Game Pass during August 2025. Assassin’s Creed Mirage and The Rogue Prince of Persia are also included in early predictions, although both may be less likely to leave because of Ubisoft’s wider relationship with Xbox and Game Pass.
Games that could leave Xbox Game Pass in August
The list is based mainly on games added to Game Pass in August 2025, along with one title that joined in August 2024 and may have remained available for an extended period.
| Game | Date added to Game Pass | Platforms | Likelihood of leaving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atlas Fallen | August 22, 2024 | Xbox Series X and S, PC, Cloud | Possible |
| Farming Simulator 25 | August 1, 2025 | Console, PC, Cloud | Possible |
| Rain World | August 5, 2025 | Console, PC, Cloud | Possible |
| Assassin’s Creed Mirage | August 7, 2025 | Console, PC, Cloud | Less likely |
| Aliens: Fireteam Elite | August 12, 2025 | Console, PC, Cloud | Possible |
| 9 Kings | August 14, 2025 | PC | Possible |
| Void/Breaker | August 19, 2025 | PC | Possible |
| The Rogue Prince of Persia | August 20, 2025 | Console, PC, Cloud | Less likely |
| Herdling | August 21, 2025 | Xbox Series X and S, PC, Cloud | Possible |
Farming Simulator 25 may be one of the more interesting titles to watch. Farming Simulator games often remain popular for a long time, and the game could stay on Game Pass longer depending on its player base and future series plans.
Rain World is another title worth playing soon if it has been on your backlog. The atmospheric survival platformer has a dedicated audience and can take time to understand, so players may want to begin before Microsoft confirms the August removals.
Ubisoft games may have a better chance of staying
Assassin’s Creed Mirage and The Rogue Prince of Persia stand out because Ubisoft has continued to bring games to Game Pass through different agreements. That does not guarantee either game will remain, but both could receive longer support than a normal one year deal.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is also one of the larger releases on the list. Losing it would be noticeable for subscribers who have not yet finished Basim’s story in Baghdad. The Rogue Prince of Persia is a smaller game, but it may still attract players looking for fast action, replayability, and a different take on the Prince of Persia series.
Microsoft will confirm the real list later
Xbox usually reveals the official leaving soon list through the Game Pass app, Xbox console dashboard, and social media posts. That announcement often comes in the middle or later part of the previous month, although the exact timing can vary.
Until then, there is no need to panic or rush through every game listed above. However, it may be worth prioritising any title you have wanted to try, especially Atlas Fallen, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Rain World, and Farming Simulator 25.
Game Pass removals are part of the service, but Microsoft often adds new games around the same time. July already has a busy lineup, and August should bring more announcements before the current titles officially leave.
