with windows 10 I am an insider
I locate more errors than you can imagin smart screen is a lower fault that makes windows slow right down but we are getting to gripps with this matter
hopefully MS will make this error work correctly

how is then windows or internet explorer updating the blocking list which referres to the dangerous sites ? trough Windows Update ?..

This ‘is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer message’ is more than annoyance. It is an effort by large companies like Microsoft to crush competition from small software publishers who publish cheaper or free, but useful apps. Microsoft would rather have you buy Microsoft’s expensive software 🙁

Hi how can I as software developer get my site and my developed programs on a safe site and safe programs list so that my visitors don’t get scared away?

PS I use FireFox and not Internet Explorer (haven’t for years) and installed Kapersky Pure 3.0 on a new Windows 8 Asus (learning curve ; ) while it’s on my other computer which is Window 7 Pro (although I would like to have stayed with XP)

  • Lindamh says:

If I’m using other security software (such as Kapersky) why would I want to enable SmartScreen? Would it interfere with other security software or just add another layer of protection?

    • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

It doesn’t interfere with your antivirus. It is just another layer of protection.
