Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s new Skitarii class could become one of the game’s most flexible additions yet, giving players a tech-focused fighter with an open skill tree, powerful cybernetic abilities, and several distinct combat styles.

The Skitarii expansion launches on June 23 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It introduces a new playable class based on the Adeptus Mechanicus, the machine-worshipping faction known for augmented soldiers, plasma weapons, electricity-based attacks, and strange mechanical tools.

Unlike Darktide’s existing classes, the Skitarii are designed around a more open-ended progression system. Instead of following a mostly fixed path through a skill tree, players can mix abilities and build toward support, ranged, melee, or hybrid roles.
