V Color has introduced new DDR5 8000 RDIMM memory for Intel W890 workstation platforms, giving high end desktop and professional systems another option for faster registered memory.
The new modules are rated at 8000 MT/s while running at 1.1V, which is notable because RDIMM memory is usually focused more on stability and capacity than extreme speed. V Color is also claiming much higher overclocking headroom, with speeds reaching up to 9600 MT/s on an ASUS workstation motherboard.
This is aimed at Intel’s W890 platform, which is built for workstation class systems rather than normal gaming desktops. These systems are often used for heavy workloads such as 3D rendering, engineering, media production, AI work, simulation, and other memory hungry tasks.
