The Witcher 3 Next Gen has received an unofficial DLSS 4.5 upgrade through a new paid mod from PureDark. The mod adds NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation support, giving RTX 50 series owners a new way to boost performance in CD Projekt Red’s open world RPG.
This is not an official update from CD Projekt Red or NVIDIA. The mod is available through PureDark’s Patreon, so players need to pay for access if they want to use it.
The main feature is DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards. These GPUs support up to 6X Multi Frame Generation, which can generate five AI frames for every normally rendered frame. In simple terms, the GPU renders a frame, and AI creates extra frames between them to make the game look smoother.
The mod also includes Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. This is different from a fixed frame generation mode because it can adjust the multiplier based on the target frame rate or the refresh rate of your display. That should help keep performance smoother instead of using the same frame generation level all the time.

The Witcher 3 Next Gen already supports ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS, but the game never received official DLSS 4 or DLSS 4.5 support. Its 2022 update added ray traced global illumination, FSR 2, Ultra Plus settings, and several other PC improvements, but newer frame generation features were left out.

That makes this mod useful for players who still want to push the game harder, especially with ray tracing enabled. The Witcher 3’s ray traced mode can still be demanding on PC, so DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation could help RTX 50 owners reach higher perceived frame rates.
Still, there are some limits to keep in mind. Since this is an unofficial mod, it may not be as stable or polished as native game support. It also does not turn The Witcher 3 into an officially supported DLSS 4.5 title. Future game updates, driver changes, or mod updates could affect compatibility.
For RTX 50 owners, this is another example of modders adding new graphics features to older games before official support arrives. If CD Projekt Red or NVIDIA never adds DLSS 4.5 support themselves, PureDark’s mod may become the main option for players who want Multi Frame Generation in The Witcher 3.
