Since I have switched to a business level of software updates, my Windows 10 system has gained a high level of stability. I use Chrome web browsers that can do more than Edge and run in concert on my Ubuntu, Windows 10, and Android devices. I already have a ransom protection system that protects me from ALL ransom threats, not just on chosen file systems (Kaspersky Total Security 2018 as of July 2018).

I was an early user of Cortina and had decided to keep her turned off until Alexa, Google, Siri, could Samsung could all work with her.

So I think I will wait until the lovely early adopters help QA the software until it is ready for use in a business community. I certainly can wait for 6 months to the other new features that seem rather ho-hum.

I am not sure if its just my pc or its a more general thing because my pc keeps on freezing after the most recent updates in Oct 2017. It never happened before and I noticed my disk consumption ridiculously full at 100% when I am not even running any programs. So I am thinking it must be the additional processes running in the background that didn’t happen before this update. And worst it didn’t allow me to defer or stop future updates (we can only delay by 30 days or something) this really gets into my skin. Unless Microsoft forgets the pc is my private property and i should choose if I ever wanted your upgrades. You should not force us to take your updates not because they are no good, but because they are crap and causes plenty of problems to us( the consumers)- the joke is when “they” want us to help troubleshoot for “them”—would u believe that..forcing us upgrades which are unstable , causing us problems and needing is to fix them. I am just lucky I set my working laptop to disable windows update earlier which stopped the latest updates. Microsoft gets silly with windows 10 and making it still hateable even with w10.

What are the protection security features new with FCU that require Windows Defender Antivirus real-time.
Does the non Windows Defender real-time user get any new protection security features with FCU?

The Ransomware protection works even if you don’t have real-time Windows Defender activated.

No I do not like it. My dell 3020. Went from a 45sec. To desktop boot to over 2 minutes. Microsoft says I should do a clean install, and spend 2days reinstall. Appps. I say why? Why don’t you release a update that don’t require clean installs. Going back to my nov 2nd image.

i HATE windows 1709. It screwed up every laptop and desktop computer I own. I HATE that Microsoft forces updates. JUst leave us alone! It cost me hundreds of dollars to have computers fixed and they still aren’t right. You should be sued for your enormous bug invested updates. I am seriously considering switching to Apple.

I would like to be able to delay the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709 on home version, because I have such a slow connection it’s taking taking days to update. During this time I’m finding it is taking ages to connect to the internet, it’s coming up to Christmas and i need to be able to shop on-line.

None of your 15 reasons are useful enough to me to have my Internet taken away by this update. In fact, the update makes it impossible for me to use these added items because the update causes the Drivers for my Ethernet and Wireless to malfunction losing me any Internet access.
