October Prime Day officially runs from October 6 through October 7, but gaming laptop discounts have already started across several major retailers. The current offers cover everything from entry level RTX 5050 systems to RTX 5080 machines, with some models discounted by several hundred dollars.
Gaming laptop prices have been difficult throughout 2026, partly because of higher memory costs, but there are still worthwhile deals for buyers who want a new portable gaming PC without paying full price. Retailers competing with Amazon have also started their promotions early, so the strongest offers are spread across several stores rather than one platform.
RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 Laptops Start Near $1,000
At the lower end, the Lenovo LOQ with an RTX 5050 is available for $998.99, down from $1,174.99. It uses a 100 W version of the GPU, paired with an Intel Core i5 13450HX, 16 GB of DDR5 memory, a 512 GB SSD and a 144 Hz 1080p display.
The Acer Nitro V 16 moves up to an RTX 5060 and costs $1,149.99 after a $480 discount. Its GPU is limited to 75 W, but it also includes a Core 7 240H processor, 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 165 Hz 1200p screen.
For buyers who want more memory, the Gigabyte Aero X16 offers 32 GB of DDR5, a 1 TB SSD and an RTX 5060 for $1,249.99. Its GPU is limited to 85 W, but the extra memory may be useful for heavier multitasking and content creation workloads.

| Gigabyte Aero X16 | RTX 5060, 85 W | $1,249.99 | 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD |

The Lenovo Legion 5i costs $1,499 after an $800.99 discount. Its standout feature is a 165 Hz OLED display, along with a 100 W RTX 5060, Core i7 14700HX and 1 TB SSD.
RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 Deals Offer More Performance
Higher end buyers have several stronger options.
The Asus TUF Gaming A16 with an RTX 5070 is available for $1,599.99, down by $625. It uses a 115 W GPU, Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and 165 Hz 1200p display, although storage is limited to 512 GB.

Another RTX 5070 Ti option is the Asus ROG Strix G16 at $1,799.99. It combines a 140 W RTX 5070 Ti with a Ryzen 9 8940HX and a 165 Hz 1200p screen.

The current sale shows how important it is to look beyond the GPU name alone. Two laptops with the same RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 can perform differently depending on their power limits, cooling and display resolution.
For value, the Lenovo LOQ remains the cheapest route into an RTX 50 series gaming laptop, while the Asus TUF Gaming A16 offers a stronger balance of GPU power and hardware in the midrange. Buyers seeking significantly higher performance have more compelling options around the $1,600 to $1,800 range, particularly the RTX 5070 Ti systems.
