NVIDIA launches Gears of War E Day themed RTX 5080 Founders Edition giveaway

NVIDIA has announced a new GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition giveaway featuring a custom design inspired by Gears of War: E Day.

The promotion is part of the company’s Summer of RTX 2026 campaign and will give two winners a specially wrapped RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card. Each card features artwork based on the upcoming Gears of War title, with visual elements linked to Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, and the darker tone of the game’s origin story.

Gears of War: E Day is scheduled to launch on October 6, 2026. The game will explore events from the beginning of the Locust invasion and return to the relationship between Marcus and Dom.

The giveaway gives fans a chance to receive a collector focused version of one of NVIDIA’s current high end graphics cards several months before the game arrives.

Two custom RTX 5080 cards are included in the global promotion

NVIDIA says the giveaway includes two custom wrapped GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition cards.

Each prize is valued at $1,599. The hardware underneath the themed wrap remains a standard RTX 5080 Founders Edition, but the exterior design makes it a limited promotional item rather than a normal retail model.

To enter, participants need to follow the instructions included in NVIDIA’s promotional posts and comment with the hashtag #RTXPowersPlay.

The campaign is being promoted across several platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Reddit, and Discord. Entry requirements may vary slightly by platform, so participants should review the official rules before submitting an entry.

NVIDIA is also holding a Gears of War themed livestream on July 17 from 1 PM to 5 PM Pacific Time as part of its GeForce Summer Nights campaign.

The custom design is aimed at collectors and Gears fans

The main appeal of the giveaway is the visual design rather than a change to the hardware.

The RTX 5080 Founders Edition uses NVIDIA’s standard compact cooler design, but the promotional version adds artwork from Gears of War: E Day across the card’s exterior.

The wrap uses dark colors, red highlights, character imagery, and branding linked to the upcoming game. Since the design is not planned for normal retail sale, the cards are likely to be more interesting to collectors than ordinary factory themed graphics cards.

NVIDIA has used similar promotions in the past to connect major PC releases with its GeForce hardware. These campaigns allow the company to highlight supported graphics technologies while giving fans access to hardware that is not available through stores.

The two card limit also makes the promotion highly exclusive. Most people entering will not win, but the giveaway gives NVIDIA and Xbox a way to build interest around the PC version before launch.

Gears of War E Day will support NVIDIA’s latest graphics features

The RTX 5080 is positioned as a suitable card for the PC version because Gears of War: E Day will support NVIDIA technologies including DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing.

DLSS can improve performance by rendering the game internally at a lower resolution and reconstructing a higher resolution image with AI processing. Supported frame generation features can also create additional frames to improve visible smoothness.

Ray tracing will be used to improve lighting and other visual effects. The RTX 5080 includes dedicated ray tracing hardware and Tensor Cores designed to accelerate these workloads.

The final performance of the game will depend on its optimization, resolution, graphics settings, and the specific DLSS mode selected. The RTX 5080 should still have enough performance for demanding settings, particularly when paired with a modern processor.

Gears of War: E Day has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 and is expected to place greater emphasis on detailed environments, lighting, and character presentation. These features make it a natural title for NVIDIA to use in a hardware promotion.

Entry rules and regional requirements still matter

Although the giveaway is described as global, eligibility rules may differ between countries.

Participants should check age requirements, supported regions, entry deadlines, and any limits on the number of entries. Some promotions also require a valid social media account or restrict participation in places where local regulations make prize distribution difficult.

The giveaway does not require a purchase. Entering through unofficial accounts or reposts may not count, so participants should use the instructions provided through NVIDIA’s verified channels.

The winners will receive a powerful graphics card and a rare Gears of War collectible in one package. For everyone else, the promotion serves as an early reminder that Gears of War: E Day is approaching its October 6 release and will arrive with support for NVIDIA’s latest PC graphics technologies.
