Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and AMD CEO Lisa Su have arrived in Taipei ahead of Computex 2026, setting the stage for one of the year’s biggest hardware events. Computex is scheduled to begin on June 2, and both companies are expected to use the show to highlight their next generation AI, data center, and consumer technologies.

The event is especially important this year because AI hardware has become the center of the PC and semiconductor industry. Nvidia remains the strongest name in AI accelerators, while AMD is pushing harder with CPUs, GPUs, and data center platforms designed to compete across training, inference, and enterprise workloads.

Computex is expected to focus heavily on AI, but consumer hardware should still get attention

Computex will take place across Taipei, with the main exhibition areas centered around the Nangang District. Hundreds of companies are expected to show new hardware, including processors, GPUs, laptops, motherboards, cooling systems, AI PCs, servers, and data center products.

Jensen Huang is expected to meet TSMC Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei during the trip. He also attended a developer focused event in Taipei, where he met people working on autonomous agents. Nvidia’s Taiwan GTC event is scheduled for June 1 at 11 AM Taiwan time, where the company is expected to share major AI updates and possibly consumer focused announcements.

Huang’s visit is also likely to include meetings with supply chain partners. Nvidia depends heavily on Taiwan’s semiconductor and hardware ecosystem, from TSMC manufacturing to board partners, server makers, cooling companies, and system integrators.

Lisa Su has also arrived in Taiwan and said she looks forward to meeting customers, partners, and industry leaders. She also spoke about wanting deeper collaboration with TSMC. That relationship is important because AMD relies on TSMC for its most advanced chips.

AMD is already tied closely to TSMC’s next generation process roadmap. The company has reportedly achieved mass production of its EPYC Venice server CPU on TSMC’s 2nm process, making it one of the earliest high performance computing products on that node. That gives AMD a strong talking point as it tries to grow further in AI servers and data centers.

The bigger theme is clear. Computex 2026 is not only about faster gaming PCs or thinner laptops. It is becoming a showcase for the future of AI infrastructure. Companies are competing over accelerators, memory bandwidth, server platforms, packaging, power efficiency, and software ecosystems.

Still, consumer hardware should not be ignored. AMD usually brings at least some consumer announcements to Computex, and Nvidia may also use the show to discuss gaming, creators, AI PCs, or graphics technologies. PC makers are also expected to show new laptops and systems built around the latest processors and AI features.

This year’s show also comes at a time when the industry is under pressure from high memory demand, rising AI investment, and tight advanced manufacturing capacity. That makes Taiwan even more central to the story. TSMC and its partners are not just suppliers anymore. They are the foundation for many of the products Nvidia, AMD, and other companies want to launch.

For now, the arrivals of Jensen Huang and Lisa Su signal that Computex 2026 will be a major stage for the next phase of AI hardware. Nvidia will likely focus on keeping its AI lead, while AMD will try to show that it has the CPUs, GPUs, and platform strategy to compete more aggressively.
