Noctua and Pulsar have introduced the Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition, a wireless gaming mouse designed to reduce sweaty palms during long or intense gaming sessions.

The mouse includes a 40mm Noctua NF A4x10 fan inside its carbon composite shell. Air moves through several openings in the body and reaches the player’s palm, helping maintain a cooler and more secure grip.

The fan offers four speed settings, allowing you to choose between stronger airflow and lower noise. It can also be switched off when cooling is not needed.

Although the integrated fan is the most unusual feature, the Noctua Edition also includes several hardware upgrades over the standard Feinmann F01. These changes cover the sensor, tracking performance and other internal components, making the model more than a visual collaboration.

Carbon composite shell supports airflow without excessive weight

The Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition uses a highly perforated carbon composite exterior. The open sections allow the internal fan to direct air toward the hand while helping keep the total weight at 73 grams.

That figure is heavier than many ultralight gaming mice, but the added cooling hardware and battery contribute to the weight. The carbon composite construction is intended to maintain strength despite the large number of openings in the shell.

The familiar brown and beige Noctua colour scheme appears across the mouse and makes the collaboration immediately recognisable. The fan can also be seen through parts of the body.

The shape is designed for right handed players. Its curved profile supports the hand, while two thumb buttons sit on the left side. The mouse includes five buttons in total, along with an alloy scroll wheel.

Improved sensor supports 42,000 DPI and 8,000Hz polling

Pulsar has fitted the Noctua Edition with its XS 2 optical sensor. It supports sensitivity settings of up to 42,000 DPI, tracking speeds of up to 800 inches per second and an 8,000Hz polling rate.

The regular Feinmann F01 uses the older XS 1 sensor, which reaches 32,000 DPI and tracks at up to 750 inches per second. This gives the Noctua model higher specifications, although most players are unlikely to use the maximum DPI setting during normal gameplay.

The high polling rate allows the mouse to send movement information to a PC more frequently. This may improve responsiveness on systems with high refresh rate displays, though it can also use more processing power and battery life.

Optical switches are used for the main buttons. They are rated for up to 100 million clicks and avoid some of the mechanical contact issues that can affect traditional mouse switches over time.

Wireless and wired operation are both supported

The Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition includes an 8K wireless dongle for its highest polling rate. You can also connect it directly to a computer through the front USB C port.

The same connection is used to recharge the internal 500mAh battery. Battery life will depend on polling rate, fan speed and lighting or software settings. Running the fan continuously at its highest setting is likely to reduce the time available between charges.

Pulsar has priced the mouse at $179.95. That places it firmly in the premium gaming peripheral category, although it costs almost the same as the regular Feinmann F01.

The cooling fan gives the Noctua Edition a clear purpose beyond its colour scheme. It may appeal most to players who experience sweaty hands and struggle to maintain a consistent grip during extended sessions. For everyone else, the upgraded sensor and high polling rate remain useful, but the specialised cooling design will determine whether the high price feels justified.
