MSI has introduced what it calls the world’s first triple mode QD OLED gaming monitor, giving high end PC gamers three different resolution and refresh rate options in one display. The new MPG OLED 322URDX36 can run at 4K 360Hz, 2K 520Hz, or 1080p 680Hz, letting players choose between sharper image quality or extreme speed depending on the game.
That flexibility is the main idea behind the monitor. For visually rich single player games, 4K 360Hz offers a mix of high resolution, OLED contrast, and very smooth motion. For competitive shooters and esports titles, the 2K 520Hz and 1080p 680Hz modes make more sense because lower resolution can help PCs reach much higher frame rates.
Dual mode gaming monitors have already become more common, but MSI is pushing the idea further with a third mode. It is not only chasing one headline number. It is trying to make one expensive monitor useful across different types of games.
The new Samsung QD OLED panel is the real star
The MPG OLED 322URDX36 uses a QD OLED panel based on RGB Penta Tandem technology. This is Samsung’s fourth generation panel technology and uses five RGB layers to improve brightness and color accuracy.
MSI also says the RGB stripe sub pixel layout helps reduce color fringing and improves text clarity. That is important because some older OLED monitors looked great in games but could show fuzzy or colored edges around text during normal desktop use.

The monitor also includes MSI’s DarkArmor film, which is designed to improve black levels by up to 40 percent while also helping protect the display from scratches. OLED already has strong black levels because individual pixels can turn off, but reflections and ambient light can still affect perceived contrast. A stronger coating could help in real rooms where lighting is not always perfect.

MSI is also adding features such as AI Care sensor, AI Navigator, NVIDIA G Sync compatibility, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, and VESA ClearMR 18000 certification. The monitor also includes DisplayPort 2.1 with 80Gbps bandwidth, which is important for handling such demanding display modes.
This is clearly not a mainstream monitor. A 4K 360Hz QD OLED panel with 520Hz and 680Hz alternate modes will almost certainly be expensive, and MSI has not yet shared pricing or availability details. Those details may arrive during Computex.
The real question is how many players can fully use this kind of display. Running modern games at 4K 360fps is extremely difficult, even for high end PCs. But the point of the monitor is that you do not need to use one mode all the time. You can use 4K for visual games, 2K for fast shooters, and 1080p when every frame matters.
For gamers who play many genres and want one premium screen that can handle all of them, MSI’s triple mode monitor is a bold step. It shows where high end OLED gaming displays are heading: sharper, faster, brighter, and more flexible than before.
