LG 42 Inch C6 OLED Drops to Record Low $949.99 at Best Buy

LG's 42 inch C6 OLED Evo 4K smart TV has fallen to $949.99 at Best Buy, marking the lowest tracked price for the current generation model.

The deal is available for today only and cuts $450 from the listed $1,399.99 MSRP. That comparison overstates the practical saving somewhat because the television has regularly sold for closer to $1,100 in recent months and previously dropped to $999.99 on Amazon.

Even against that lower street price, the new $949.99 offer represents another $50 reduction and a new low for the 42 inch C6.

The 42 Inch C6 Can Work as a Gaming Monitor

The smaller C6 is particularly interesting if you want one display for television, console gaming and desktop PC use.

At roughly 36.7 inches wide, the 42 inch model is compact enough to fit on a large desk or monitor arm while still providing considerably more screen space than a conventional gaming monitor.

Its OLED panel provides the usual advantages of self emissive pixels, including deep blacks, effectively infinite contrast and no traditional backlight blooming.

Gaming support is also a major part of the package.

The native 165Hz refresh rate makes the C6 suitable for high frame rate PC gaming, while HDMI 2.1 support allows modern consoles and PCs to use high resolution and high refresh rate modes.

FreeSync and G Sync support can also reduce tearing and stutter when frame rates fluctuate.

Larger LG C6 Models Are Also Discounted

The 42 inch model is not the only C6 currently on sale.

Several larger versions have also received substantial discounts.

77 inch$2,299.99$1,400
83 inch$3,799.99$1,500

Among the larger models, the 65 inch version stands out at $1,499.99.

It costs only $100 more than the 55 inch model while offering a noticeable increase in screen size. The jump from 65 inches to 77 inches is much larger at $800.

For a living room setup, that makes the 65 inch version one of the more balanced options in the current C6 pricing structure.

Samsung, Sony and LG B6E OLED Models Are Discounted Too

Several competing OLED televisions are also available at reduced prices.

Samsung's 42 inch S90H is listed at $999.99, while Sony's 48 inch Bravia 6 is also $999.99.

LG's more affordable B6E lineup starts lower, with the 55 inch model priced at $799.99, the 65 inch version at $1,099.99 and the 77 inch model at $1,599.99.

Samsung's 55 inch S90H is listed at $1,299, while its 65 inch version costs $1,499.99 and the 77 inch model is $2,299.99.

Sony's Bravia 6 lineup includes a 55 inch model at $1,099.99, a 65 inch version at $1,299.99 and a 77 inch model at $1,799.99.

The 42 Inch C6 Is the Most Flexible Option for Desk Use

The 42 inch LG C6 is particularly appealing because it sits between a traditional television and an oversized gaming monitor.

Its combination of 4K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, OLED image quality, adaptive sync support and HDMI 2.1 makes it suitable for both PC and console gaming.

At $949.99, the current Best Buy deal also places it below several competing OLED models in the same general size category.

If your priority is a larger living room display, the 65 inch C6 offers more screen space for a relatively small increase over the 55 inch version. For a desk setup, however, the 42 inch model remains the most practical C6 and is now available at its lowest tracked price.
