Kadokawa says Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods are still coming in 2026

FromSoftware still has two Nintendo Switch 2 games planned for 2026.

Kadokawa, FromSoftware’s parent company, has reaffirmed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods are both scheduled to launch this year. The confirmation came through Kadokawa’s financial results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2026.

There is still no official release date for either game, but the repeated 2026 window is a good sign, especially for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.

The Switch 2 version of Elden Ring has had a rougher path than expected. It was first shown as one of the major third party games coming to Nintendo’s new system, but early previews raised concerns about performance. Reports from Gamescom 2025 suggested the game had serious frame rate issues, which made its delay from 2025 to 2026 unsurprising.

More recent previews have sounded more positive, suggesting FromSoftware has made real progress on the Switch 2 version.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition matters because it could become one of the biggest third party tests for Switch 2. Elden Ring is a huge open world action RPG, and getting it running well on a handheld hybrid system is not simple. If FromSoftware can deliver a stable version, it would be a strong technical and commercial win for Nintendo’s new hardware.

The Duskbloods is more mysterious. It is a brand new FromSoftware title made for Nintendo Switch 2, but very little has been shown so far. Because it is being built for the hardware from the start, it may avoid some of the challenges that came with porting Elden Ring.

Kadokawa’s forecast says both games are expected to help expand FromSoftware’s global fanbase. The company also said it has 27 console and PC game IPs in development across its gaming business.

That does not mean 27 FromSoftware games are coming. Kadokawa owns multiple gaming related companies, so the number covers a wider pipeline. Still, it suggests the publisher has a lot planned beyond these two Switch 2 titles.

For now, the main takeaway is simple. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods are still listed for 2026, and there is no current sign from Kadokawa that either has slipped into 2027.

Nintendo Switch 2 players now just need the important missing detail: actual release dates.
