I used to be able to bring up my calendar app with no problem as well as my music app. Then one day it forced me to switch both to a microsoft account where I have to login to view them, which seemed to wipe my calendar that I have schedules on. I’ve since found how to disable that, but in doing so they will not let me view my calendar at all without logging into my microsoft account and wiped calendar ARRRGHH!!! I do not want to log into my microsoft account that they forced me to make for anything and I want to access my old calendar. Any help??

My calendar shows US holidays and I can not get rid of them, not even after opening an Outlook account, removing the US holidays of that one and syncing. How to do this?

I get detailed notification for next day’s birth dates on my calendar tile on the start menu. How can I set to show only current day’s (Today’s) items?

  • Bob Kingsley says:

The Latest update for the Mail, Calendar and People app collection removed Google Calendar syncing from the Calendar app. You can still sync Gmail contacts in People and Gmail emails in Mail, but you can no longer sync calendar events in Calendar. See this article on TheVerge for more information.

The option for a Google calendar is not in the menu.

  • Rita says:

For some reason I can’t switch between calendars – I would like to add a birthday onto my birthday calendar – and there is no “drop down” box to switch to the birthday calendar (as shown on the tutorial on you tube) – so I have no way to put in birthdays – just normal appointments – which is all in the same colour now – rather confusing – I am going back to pen and paper…

Did you read this section – How to Configure Events in the Calendar App?

It shows how to add events to the calendar

      More useless junk

      • mike says:

I use the Settings, Options, to turn all other calendars off except the one the event needs to be created in, then create as usual, it has no option but to place it the correct calendar.

  • Ann Morton says:

I cannot put in an ending date for a recurring event without getting the message “the duration of the appointment must be shorter than how frequently it occurs.”

  • Neil Katz says:

I would like to see my To-Do (Task) items from the Outlook.com calendar on a tile. Is there an app for that?

  • Carl Eppig says:

I can’t schedule an event that reoccurs weekly with an end date without getting a message about overlapping events which makes no sense.

    • A Morton says:

Your situation sounds a lot like my problem, were you ever able to correct it?If so, I’d like to know what you did.
