You can unlock the A World Without Gold questline in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced by completing Sequence 11: Everything is Permitted. After that point, the new endgame questline becomes available at Edward Kenway’s headquarters in Great Inagua. You will not be able to access it early, so you need to progress through most of the main story first.
A World Without Gold is one of the remake’s major new additions. While Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced stays close to the original game in many ways, this questline gives returning players a fresh reason to keep playing after reaching the late game. It includes eight quests and ties together some of the new content added in the remake.
The questline also continues elements connected to Blackbeard’s story, so it is worth playing if you want more narrative content beyond the familiar main campaign. More importantly, it offers useful rewards for the Jackdaw, including a new officer and a strong ship combat upgrade.
How to start the questline from Great Inagua after Sequence 11
Once you finish Sequence 11, return to Great Inagua and check your headquarters. The first quest in the chain, That Bastard Maynard, should become available there. From that point, the rest of the questline unlocks in order as you complete each step.
The structure is mostly linear, but some quests require you to finish more than one objective before the next part appears. The full questline ends with A World Without Gold, which only becomes available after completing A Cockalorum.
| Quest | How to unlock it |
|---|---|
| That Bastard Maynard | Complete Sequence 11: Everything is Permitted |
| Not Even A Real Captain | Complete That Bastard Maynard |
| What The Devil! | Complete Not Even A Real Captain |
| It’s A Start | Complete What The Devil!, The One with the Gun, Discipline, and Courage |
| I Just Want To Talk | Complete It’s A Start |
| Not Our Natural Allies | Complete It’s A Start |
| A Cockalorum | Complete Not Our Natural Allies and I Just Want To Talk |
| A World Without Gold | Complete A Cockalorum |
The main reward comes after finishing What The Devil. At that point, Tobias “Deadman” Smith joins the Jackdaw as Master Gunner. This is a valuable upgrade because it lets the ship’s broadside cannons fire an extra salvo for free. In practical terms, that gives the Jackdaw a noticeable damage boost during naval combat.

There is also another useful reward tied to his officer questline. Completing it unlocks the Auxiliary Weapon upgrade for the Mortar, allowing you to fire the weapon in quick succession. This can make ship battles faster and easier, especially when fighting larger targets or groups of enemy vessels.
If you are already near the end of the story, A World Without Gold is worth starting as soon as it appears. It gives you more late game content, adds meaningful ship upgrades, and brings a stronger reason to return to Great Inagua after Sequence 11.
