This may have already been mentioned, but Firefox no longer supports Java as of March, 2017 in version 52.

Thanks for sharing this information.

hi, i am one of those artists on Asian Oekaki art-making websites; the sites that need Java to work the applets so we can draw and paint.Since no browser is going to support Java, HOW DO WE MAKE THOSE APPLETS RUN FOR US??PLEASE advise–I am going nuts because Java 8 update,Windows 7, home edition, will not accept art sites–no amt. of inside shuffling will make this Java not reject our art sites!!!–the only art site that has managed this is “Chicken-Smoothie.com(or net)” which is a well run, huge,Japanese children’s site to draw & paint every animal you can imagine.–And they are the only ones good at this Java,–but “2draw.net” and “Rateyourdrawings”(similar name)a huge site, and old “Rydia.Taco.net””and several others,I cannot draw on–they don’t get accepted by new Java updated 8.–And WHAT BROWSER WILL STILL RUN JAVA?I am not joking,I bet a lota desperate art-site-artists would pay money just to get their STUPID BROWSER-JAVA PROBLEM fixed!!!I stopped going to computer repairmen, where i live.so I have to figure this out.–please let us know. if you can help a lot, you’d be saving a lot of very desperate artists who can’t work online any more. (please keep answers simple.)thanks!!!!–Doreet

java is the most important programming languages. there are lots of advantages of this languages. here I get some useful ideas about how we can use it in all the major web.

Mary

I like firefox better than any other browser and I don’t see why java is no longer available. If firefox thinks it is a security problem it is up to the user to decide. I have used an earlier version of firefox for java but now it keeps updating firefox so I can’t use the older version even when I check the not to update firefox box. This should be the users right and not firefox or the powers that be.

When you have to access an old HP server config portal named ILO and you would like to start remote screen and your working on Linux system you need java.
No IE or IEtab = No java-aplets in Linux.

That sucks, terribly!

There are also several state and county websites that still require Java to view tax and property maps and they are very slow to update anything.

I use Banner 8 at work on a Mac. It is not compatible with the Safari 12 update, and others that do not support Java and NPAPI. I had to reinstall my OS to go back to Safari 11.x

Kaiser Permanente’s clinical charting system (for licensed health care providers) requires the use of Java.

SysAdmin Guy

HP ProCurve switches…

This product requires the Java language, which is either disabled or not available on this browser.

Sparta Coin Forging (PoS-Mining) requires JAVA.

I have been a paying member of Pogo (www.pogo.com) for 20 years. All my favorite games that I love playing require Java. Now thanks to Firefox and Google I can no longer play what I am paying for and I am so damn angry I can spit nails. I am planning on getting rid of Firefox because, in my opinion, they support men who cheat, pedo****, and any other scum of the earth that wants to use private browsing for their garbage. Most of the games I play require Java and I have tried everything I can think of to get around it and there is nothing.

eDeposits on Navy Federal Credit Union website still requires Java to upload deposits.

Scanning & depositing a check online at US Bank requires Java and the only major browser that supports it is Internet Explorer, which I only use for that purpose. The work arounds listed here for MS Edge and Chrome are fine but it’s just easier to open IE.

Anonymous

That is true. It is much easier to use Internet Explorer.

Carol

safari….

My bank uses java and so does my stock trading platform. Also, some coupon sites use java. Java is used much more than writers claim.

Steve

US Bank still requires Java when scanning in checks.

Bronna

Pogo.com still uses java for Bridge games.

Louise

Thank you, very helpful! The US Census Bureau’s DataFERRETT tool, which allows you to download and analyze microdata from several important surveys, runs on Java.

Liam

Funky Snooker online games requires java. I was able to play snooker on Opera which provided the best experience with the snooker because you could enlarge the snooker table. But with Internet explorer, you are stuck with the smaller snooker tables.

John

Pogo game site still uses java in some game rooms

Marge Ownby

US Bank is still using Java for online check deposit…to no avail.

I have some web managed Netgear switches (GS716T v2, GS 110TP and two GS 108T v2). They all require Java for the graphics.

Poulpos

Same for old HP switches.
If some douche disabled ssh & telnet, you’re stuck with a web ui that will not fonction (ALL the ui, not just the graphics).
So : “Hi , that will need an on-site intervention, you will pay for that. You will wait for that too.” instead of being able to remotely do it. (NEVER disable ssh, please guys…)

Manigance

Is there any browser for IMac still supporting Java?
