GTA Online, Planet Zoo, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and More Join Xbox Free Play Days

Xbox has launched another Free Play Days promotion with five games available to try for a limited time. The latest lineup includes Grand Theft Auto Online, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Crisol: Theater of Idols, Planet Zoo: Console Edition, and Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports.

Two games can be played without an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Grand Theft Auto Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 are open to all eligible Xbox players during the promotion.

The remaining three games require an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership. Most of the offers end on July 19, while Grand Theft Auto Online remains available for a slightly longer period until July 21.

Free Play Days allows you to download and play the complete versions of participating games during the promotional period. Any progress and achievements earned should remain connected to your Xbox account if you later decide to purchase the game.

GTA Online receives an extended free access period on Xbox Series consoles

Grand Theft Auto Online is available through the promotion on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The offer applies only to the enhanced current generation version and does not include the older Xbox One release.

Rockstar’s online game lets you explore Los Santos, complete cooperative missions, take part in competitive activities, manage businesses, purchase properties, and build a collection of vehicles and weapons.

Unlike the other Free Play Days games, GTA Online can be played until July 21. No Game Pass membership is required during the free period.

The extended GTA Online offer gives new players additional time to explore the game’s large collection of activities. However, access will end after the promotion unless the game is purchased or accessed through another valid entitlement.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available without a subscription

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the second game that does not require Game Pass during this week’s event. It is available on Xbox Series consoles, Xbox One, and Windows.

The action role playing game allows you to create a custom fighter and travel through different moments from the Dragon Ball timeline. Your character works alongside familiar heroes while correcting changes made to important events.

The game combines arena combat with character progression, equipment, skills, and online multiplayer. Its large amount of downloadable content has also expanded the roster and story since the original launch.

The free weekend provides enough time to test the fighting system, complete early missions, and decide whether the long running game is worth purchasing.

Game Pass members can try Planet Zoo and two other games

Planet Zoo: Console Edition is available to Game Pass members on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The management game lets you design and operate a zoo while caring for animals, building habitats, hiring staff, and managing finances.

The console edition adapts the detailed PC interface for controller input. It includes creative construction tools and simulation systems involving animal welfare, visitor satisfaction, conservation, and business management.

Crisol: Theater of Idols is also part of the promotion for Game Pass subscribers. It is available only on Xbox Series consoles and offers a darker experience than the other games in the lineup.

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports provides a more casual option. It includes several sports activities featuring familiar Looney Tunes characters and supports Xbox Series consoles, Xbox One, and Windows.

How to find the Free Play Days games on Xbox

You can find the current promotion directly through the Microsoft Store on an Xbox console. Open the Store, select the Home section from the sidebar, and then enter the Subscriptions area.

The participating Free Play Days games should appear together in that section. Each title can be downloaded individually.

Most of this week’s games will remain playable until July 19 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. GTA Online will continue until July 21.

Free Play Days does not permanently add the games to your account. You can play without restrictions during the promotion, but continued access requires a purchase or another valid subscription after the trial ends.

The latest lineup offers a useful mix of multiplayer action, fighting, management, horror, and family friendly sports. GTA Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 are the easiest games to try because they do not require Game Pass, while subscribers receive three additional options for the weekend.
