Google’s new Googlebook laptop family may include high end Intel Panther Lake hardware, according to an older shipping manifest that has resurfaced after the product line was introduced.
The listing reportedly mentioned a Google laptop design using Intel Panther Lake with 12 Xe3 graphics cores. That matters because Panther Lake chips with 12 Xe3 cores sit in Intel’s more premium Core Ultra Series 3 lineup, rather than the lower power mainstream segment.
The device appeared under the codename Felino and was listed with a 16 inch design, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, and 1TB of storage. The motherboard reference also points to 14 inch laptop configurations, suggesting Googlebook could appear in more than one size.

The key link is the Q7AP ID, which appears in both the Google laptop reference and Intel related listings. That ID is believed to point to a Panther Lake 12Xe motherboard. Since the manifest is around a year old, it could represent an early design, a delayed model, or a premium Googlebook configuration that may still be planned.

Googlebook is expected to sit above Chromebooks as a more powerful laptop family. That would explain why Google may use stronger Intel chips in some models. Panther Lake based Core Ultra Series 3 processors can offer up to 16 CPU cores and higher end Xe3 graphics, depending on the SKU.
The lineup may also be split into different tiers. Premium Googlebook laptops could use Panther Lake, while more affordable models may use Intel Wildcat Lake or chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek. That would let Google target both MacBook Neo style pricing and higher end Windows laptop competitors.
The premium angle also makes sense because Googlebook is expected to compete more directly with Apple’s MacBook Neo. Apple’s machine starts at $599, but supply pressure has reportedly made pricing more complicated. If Google wants to compete, it will need careful pricing across different models.
Intel is only one part of the project. Qualcomm and MediaTek are also said to be involved, which means Googlebook may become a broad laptop platform rather than one single device. Different hardware partners could build their own designs, giving buyers more choice in performance, battery life, and price.
For now, the Panther Lake link should be treated as an early clue, not final confirmation. Google has not announced exact Googlebook specifications yet. Still, the shipping manifest suggests that at least some models may aim much higher than normal Chromebooks, with premium Intel silicon, strong integrated graphics, and generous memory and storage.
