Garmin has introduced the CIRQA Smart Band, a screen free fitness tracker designed for continuous health and activity monitoring without a monthly subscription.
The $200 wearable targets the same category as Whoop and Fitbit’s screenless devices, but Garmin is making ownership costs a central part of the appeal. CIRQA buyers receive access to health data and recovery insights through the Garmin Connect app without paying recurring fees.
The band will begin shipping on July 24, 2026. Garmin plans to offer it in two sizes and four colours: Black, French Gray, Navy, and Berry. Replacement straps will also be sold separately.
CIRQA weighs about 20 grams and uses a lightweight fabric design intended for day and night wear. It can be worn on the wrist or attached to the upper arm with an optional strap.
CIRQA removes the screen to focus on continuous tracking
Garmin has avoided adding a display, notifications, apps, or other smartwatch features.
Instead, CIRQA collects health data in the background and sends it to the Garmin Connect mobile app. This approach helps keep the tracker compact and reduces the temptation to check another screen during the day.
A single physical button is positioned on the side of the device. It can be used to start workouts manually or dismiss silent vibration alarms.

The 5 ATM water resistance rating makes CIRQA suitable for swimming and general water exposure. It is not designed for diving or high pressure underwater activities.
Removing the screen also allows Garmin to focus on comfort, which is important for a product intended to remain on the body during exercise, sleep, and normal daily activity.
Health sensors cover heart rate, blood oxygen, and temperature
CIRQA includes an optical heart rate monitor, Pulse Ox blood oxygen tracking, an accelerometer, and a skin temperature sensor.
These components support many of the health metrics already available on Garmin’s recent watches. The band can monitor daily stress, heart rate variability, training readiness, and Body Battery levels.
Body Battery estimates how much energy you may have available by combining information such as sleep, stress, activity, and heart rate variability. Training readiness is intended to help you decide whether your body is prepared for a demanding workout or would benefit from additional recovery.

CIRQA can also estimate VO2 max, a measurement commonly used to assess cardiovascular fitness.
The value of these metrics depends on wearing the band consistently. A screenless and lightweight design may help because it is less intrusive than a full smartwatch.
Sleep tracking includes naps and overnight temperature changes
Garmin has included sleep analysis as a major part of the CIRQA experience.
The band can generate a sleep quality score, monitor respiration, identify naps, and track changes in skin temperature overnight. This information is shown in the Garmin Connect app rather than on the wearable itself.
Skin temperature data can also support cycle predictions and estimates of previous ovulation for women. Garmin says the tracker will work with supported birth control and fertility services, including Natural Cycles.
These features are intended to provide long term patterns rather than medical diagnoses. Measurements from a consumer wearable can be useful for observing changes, but they should not replace professional medical testing or advice.
More than 80 activities are supported
CIRQA can track over 80 exercise and activity types.
Automatic activity detection identifies movement patterns and attempts to classify workouts over time. You can then confirm or adjust the detected activity in Garmin Connect.
Manual workout recording is also available through the side button, which is useful when you want a clear beginning and end point for an exercise session.
The band does not include its own GPS receiver. Outdoor routes for running, cycling, or walking must therefore be recorded through the GPS in a connected smartphone.

The lack of built in GPS is common among compact screenless trackers. It improves battery life and reduces size, but it means you must carry a phone when accurate route maps are important.
Battery life reaches up to 10 days
Garmin claims CIRQA can operate for up to 10 days on one charge.
Actual endurance will depend on sensor use, workout frequency, Pulse Ox settings, vibration alarms, and syncing behaviour. Continuous blood oxygen monitoring can be particularly demanding on battery life.
Ten days would still place the device above many full smartwatches, which often require charging every one or two days.
Longer endurance also supports better sleep and recovery tracking because you are less likely to remove the band overnight for charging.
Garmin has not detailed charging speed or confirmed how long a full recharge will take.
No subscription is the main difference from Whoop
CIRQA’s strongest commercial advantage may be its one time purchase model.
Whoop has built its platform around membership plans that provide access to hardware and detailed health insights. Other fitness services may also place advanced recovery or coaching features behind paid tiers.
Garmin says CIRQA owners will receive full data visualisation inside Garmin Connect without additional monthly charges.
This makes the $200 upfront cost easier to compare over several years. A cheaper tracker that requires ongoing payments can eventually cost more than CIRQA, depending on the subscription price and length of use.
The model will also appeal to existing Garmin customers who already keep training, sleep, and health information inside Garmin Connect.
CIRQA competes through simplicity rather than smartwatch features
The tracker is not intended to replace an Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, or Garmin smartwatch.
It has no display for messages, maps, music controls, or live workout statistics. Most interaction happens through the phone app, while the band remains largely invisible during normal use.
That design may suit people who want detailed health information without wearing another screen. It may be less suitable for runners and cyclists who need live pace, navigation, or distance data on their wrist.
At $200, CIRQA is more expensive than some basic fitness bands, but Garmin is positioning it as a complete recovery and training tracker rather than a simple step counter.
The combination of up to 10 days of battery life, more than 80 activity profiles, sleep analysis, skin temperature tracking, and no recurring fees gives Garmin a clear position in the growing screenless wearable market.
