Forza Horizon 6 is now available worldwide, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can start playing it on day one. After several days of paid early access, the Standard Edition is live for everyone, giving players full access to Playground Games’ new Horizon Japan map.
The launch is only the beginning. Playground has already detailed the first post launch season, called Series 1: Welcome to Japan. It runs from May 21 to June 18 and follows the familiar Festival Playlist format from earlier Forza Horizon games.
That means players will get weekly objectives, events, and rewards across the month. Each week will include two reward cars, while Playground is also adding bonus cars tied to the full season.

The Series 1 reward list is heavily focused on Japanese cars, which fits the new setting well. Players will be able to earn cars from Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda, Subaru, and more.

Forza Horizon 6 is also adding a new long term Festival Playlist reward system. Playground calls it Series History Rewards. These unlock exclusive cars based on the lifetime Playlist Points you earn while playing the game. That gives regular players another reason to keep coming back across multiple seasons.

There is paid content too. The Time Attack Car Pack is available now as a standalone purchase and is also included with the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade. The paid Car Pass will add one car every week for 30 weeks.
The first month of Car Pass cars includes the 1990 Nissan #12 Skyline GT R BNR32 Group A JTC, the 2024 Koenigsegg Gemera, the 1972 Datsun #269 Attacking the Clock Racing 240Z All Carbon Hill Climb Beast, and the 2008 Honda Civic Type R FD2.

The launch gives Xbox one of its biggest Game Pass releases of the year so far. Forza Horizon 6 already built strong momentum through reviews and early access, and now the wider audience can jump in without buying the full game separately.
The first season also shows Playground is not waiting long to start the live service cycle. With free playlist cars, long term rewards, paid Car Pass drops, and a Japan focused opening month, Forza Horizon 6 has a busy first few weeks ahead.
